ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(12)H(12)N(2) (2+)·2ClO(4) (-), the dihedral angle between the two outer pyridine rings of the dication is 44.8 (1)°. In the crystal, weak intermolecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur.

Project description:The title compound, C60H76Si2, a formally anti-aromatic system containing 20-π electrons, contains a rare p-xylylene motif. This is displayed by the alternating short and long bonds. The outer rings possess nearly homogenous bond lengths. In the crystal, the molecules forms layers perpendicular to the c axis and within these layers there are two one-dimensional stacks with one stack that has a sp (2) carbon contact of 3.283 (6) Å, less than the sum of the van der Waals radii. The center of the mol-ecule sits on an inversion center.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C10H8N4)3(H2O)2](ClO4)2} n , the coordination environment of the cationic Cu(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by pairs of symmetry-equivalent 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands, bridging 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands and two non-equivalent water mol-ecules. The 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene mol-ecules form polymeric chains parallel to [-101] via azo bonds which are situated about inversion centres. Since the Cu(II) atom is situated on a twofold rotation axis, the monomeric unit has point symmetry 2. The perchlorate anions are disordered in a 0.536 (9):0.464 (9) ratio and are acceptors of water H atoms in medium-strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with graph set R 4 (4)(12). The water mol-ecules, which are coordinated to the Cu(II) atom and are hydrogen-bonded to the perchlorate anions, form columns parallel to [010]. A π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.913 (2) Å] occurs between pyridine rings, and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions also occur.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(28)H(22)N(2)O(2))(C(5)H(5)N)(2)]ClO(4)·0.5CH(4)O·0.5H(2)O, each Co(III) ion is coordinated by the tetra-dentate N,N'-bis-(2-oxidobenzyl-idene)-1,2-diphenyl-ethane-1,2-diamine ligand [Co-N = 1.900 (3) and 1.903 (3) Å; Co-O = 1.885 (3) and 1.891 (3) Å] and two pyridine ligands [Co-N = 1.967 (4) and 1.977 (3) Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The packing of the cations and anions forms voids of 258 Å(3), which are filled by methanol and solvent water mol-ecules with half occupancies. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between solvent molecules, perchlorate anions and water molecules, and between water molecules and O atoms of the ligand, help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The title mononuclear zinc(II) complex, [Zn(C(10)H(15)N(3))(2)](ClO(4))(2), was obtained by the reaction of 2-acetyl-pyridine, N-methyl-ethane-1,2-diamine and zinc perchlorate in methanol. The asymmetric unit of the complex contains two independent [Zn(C(10)H(15)N(3))(2)](2+) cations and four perchlorate anions. The Zn(II) atom in each complex cation is six-coordinated by two pyridine N, two imine N and two amine N atoms from two N-methyl-N'-[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl-idene]ethane-1,2-diamine Schiff base ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The pyridine rings in each of the complex cations are approximately perpendicular to each other, making dihedral angles of 88.4?(3) and 87.9?(3)°. The perchlorate anions are linked to the complex cations through N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[Ag(C(12)H(20)N(2)O(2))]ClO(4)·0.5H(2)O}(n), the Ag(I) cation is coordinated by two N atoms from two 1,2-bis-(4,4-dimethyl-4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)ethane (L) ligands in a nearly linear geometry [N-Ag-N = 171.07?(8)°]. The L ligand bridges adjacent Ag(+) cations, forming a polymeric chain running along the c axis. The lattice water mol-ecule is situated on a twofold rotation axis, and links to the perchlorate anion via an O-H?O hydrogen bond. The long Ag?O separation of 3.200?(4)?Å indicates a weak inter-action between the perchlorate anion and the Ag(I) cation. Weak C-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs between the chain and the lattice water mol-ecule and between the chain and perchlorate anions. Both five-membered rings of the L ligand display envelope conformations; in one five-membered ring, the flap C atom is disordered on opposite sides of the ring with occupancies of 0.65 and 0.35.

Project description:In the title compound, C(18)H(16)N(2), there are two independent half-mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit, each mol-ecule being completed by an inversion center situated in the mid-point of the central N-N bond. The mol-ecules themselves therefore are essentially planar with r.m.s. deviations of 0.015 (1) and 0.020 (1) Å, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via C-H⋯π inter-actions in which only type B mol-ecules are donors, while both A and B mol-ecules act as acceptors. As a result, type B mol-ecules are linked into infinite chains along b, which are inter-connected by molecules of type A.
