Poly[diaqua-μ(2)-oxalato-di-μ(4)-succinato-diyttrium(III)].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Y(2)(C(4)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the flexible succinate anion assumes a gauche conformation and bridges the eight-coordinated Y atoms, generating two-dimensional layers parallel to (010). The coordination polymer layers are linked into a three-dimensional framework by the rigid oxalate ligands. The oxalate ions are located on a center of inversion. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Yb(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), features an extended three-dimensional framework made up of Yb(3+) ions coordinated by terephthalate ligands, oxalate ligands and water mol-ecules. The Yb(3+) ion has a distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination formed by one aqua ligand, two O atoms from an oxalate ligand and five O atoms belonging to four terephthalate anions. Two symmetry-independent terephthalate anions, as well as the oxalate anion, occupy special positions on inversion centers. The water molecule participates in O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding with both terephthalate anions.

The Tb(III) cation, the isonicotinate anion and the two crystallographically independent water mol-ecules occupy general positions, whereas one of the two crystallographically independent oxalate anions is located on a center of inversion, and the second oxalate anion is located on a twofold rotation axis. The Tb(III) cations are linked by the oxalate and isonicotinate anions into layers, which are connected via inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding and π-π stacking [with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.509 (2) and 3.343 (3) Å] inter-actions into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Co(4)(C(2)O(4))(PO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), there are layers composed of the phosphate anions and two independent Co(II) cations. These layers are parallel to (001) and are bridged by the oxalate anions that are situated in special positions on centres of symmetry. One independent Co atom has an octa-hedral coordination, while the second independent Co atom is coordinated in a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination that includes the water mol-ecule. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and oxalate O atoms.

The doubly bis-chelating oxalate ligands act as bridging ligands connecting symmetry-related In(III) ions and forming a three-dimensional open framework structure. Ethyl-enediammonium cations and water mol-ecules occupy the voids within the structure. The unique ethyl-enediammonium cation and one water mol-ecule both lie on a twofold rotation axis. One of the other two water mol-ecules residing on general crystallographic sites was refined as disordered with half occupancy. In the crystal structure, cations and water mol-ecules are linked to the anionic framework via inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, {Na(2)[Mg(2)(C(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)]}(n), is isotypic with its Co analogue. There are two crystallographically independent oxalate groups in the asymmetric unit, one lying on an inversion center and the other on a general position. Mg(2+) ions are ligated by H(2)O mol-ecules and bridged by tri- and tetra-dentate oxalate ligands, forming ladder-like double chains that are held together via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, with Na(+) cations located between the chains to balance the charge.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)H(4)O(4))(C(9)H(7)N)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Co(II) cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two succinate anions, two isoquinoline ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The succinate anion, located across another inversion center, bridges the Co cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b axis. The partially overlapped arrangement of parallel isoquinoline ring systems of adjacent polymeric chains and the shorter face-to-face distance of 3.402 (6) Å indicates the existence of weak π-π stacking in the crystal structure. Classical intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and weak non-classical inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding help to stabilize the crystal structure.
