ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(9)H(7)O(2)S)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom (site symmetry ) is four-coordinated by two O atoms from 3-(2-sulfanylphen-yl)prop-2-enoate anions and two aqua O atoms in a slightly distorted ZnO(4) square-planar arrangement. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds help to establish the packing.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title structure, [Zn(C(9)H(10)NO(2))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Zn(II) cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two 4-(methyl-amino)-benzoate anions, two nicotinamide ligands and two water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 3.09?(9)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 77.10?(4)°. The uncoordinated water mol-ecule is linked to nicotinamide ligands by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. A weak N-H?? inter-action also occurs.

Project description:The complex mol-ecule of the title compound, [Zn(C(13)H(9)N(2)O(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, has 2 symmetry with the Zn(II) cation located on a twofold rotation axis. The Zn cation is N,N'-chelated by two 5-[(pyridin-2-yl)methyl-idene-amino]-2-hy-droxy-benzoate anions and coordinated by two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Within the anionic ligand, the pyridine ring is oriented at a dihedral angle of 49.54?(10)° with respect to the benzene ring. The carboxyl-ate group of the anionic ligand is not involved in coordination but is O-H?O hydrogen bonded to the coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding is also present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Yb(4)Zn(4)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(20)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], contains half of a centrosymmetric octa-nuclear mol-ecule in which each Zn(II) ion is four-coordinated by three O atoms from three 2-methyl-prop-2-enoate (L) ligands and one N atom from a 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) ligand in a distorted pyramidal geometry. The two independent Yb(III) ions, each coordinated by eight O atoms in an irregular geometry, exhibit different coordination environments, viz. one water mol-ecule, five bridging bidentate and one chelating bidentate carboxyl-ate groups for one Yb(III) ion, and one water mol-ecule, three bridging bidentate and two chelating bidentate carboxyl-ate groups for the other Yb(III) ion. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds help to establish the packing.

Project description:The Zn(II) ion in the title compound, [Zn(C(15)H(14)N(10))(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2), lies on a centre of symmetry. The distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral coordination environment around the Zn atom is composed of two 1,3-bis-[5-(2-pyrid-yl)-2H-tetra-zol-2-yl]propane ligands (L1) and two water mol-ecules, coordinated in trans positions. The ligand acts as a typical bidentate chelating ligand through one of its 2-pyridyl-2H-tetra-zole units, forming a five-membered Zn-N-C-C-N metallacycle with a small N-Zn-N bite angle [77.40 (8)°]. The other 2-pyridyl-2H-tetra-zole unit remains uncoordinated. The average Zn-N distance (2.156 Å) is somewhat longer than the distance between the Zn(II) center and the aqua ligand [2.108 (2) Å]. The coordinated pyrid-yl-tetra-zoyl rings are quasi-coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 1.9 (2)°, while the uncoordinated rings show a larger inter-planar angle of 21.3 (2)°. The flexible propane spacer displays a zigzag chain. Inter-molecular O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O inter-actions result in two-dimensional polymeric structures parallel to (100). Two C atoms of the spacer are disordered over two positions, with site occupancy factors of ca 0.85 and 0.15.
