ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(20)H(15)N(5)O(4)S, the central benzene ring makes dihedral angles of 59.5?(1) and 51.7?(1)°, respectively, with the terminal phenyl and benzene rings. The mol-ecular structure exhibits weak intra-molecular N-H?N and C-H?S inter-actions. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular N-H?S and C-H?O inter-actions, forming a chain along [11].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(7)H(6)F(2)N(2)S, consists of two independent mol-ecules, with comparable geometries. In one mol-ecule, the thio-urea moiety is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.014 Å) and it forms a dihedral angle of 78.67 (9)° with the benzene ring. The corresponding r.m.s. deviation and dihedral angle for the other mol-ecule are 0.011 Å and 81.71 (8)°, respectively. In both mol-ecules, one of the F atoms is disordered over two positions with refined site occupancies of 0.572 (3):0.428 (3) and 0.909 (2):0.091 (2), respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via N-H⋯S and C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds into two-dimensional networks parallel to (010).

Project description:In the title compound, C(13)H(9)ClN(4)O(4), there are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, which have very similar conformations. The C=N-N angles in each independent mol-ecule are 115.0 (2) and 116.6 (2)°, which are significantly smaller than the ideal value of 120° expected for sp(2)-hybridized N atoms. This is probably a consequence of repulsion between the nitro-gen lone pairs and the adjacent N-N bonds. Two bifurcated intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds help to establish the mol-ecular conformation and consolidate the crystal packing.
