The mean plane of this fused ring system is nearly coplanar with the phenyl ring, as indicated by the dihedral angle between their planes of 1.31?(12)°. The fused-ring system and the phenyl ring are nearly coplanar, as indicated by the dihedral angle of 1.27?(10)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules form inversion dimers via pairs of C-H?O hydrogen bonds. Project description:The title compound, C(10)H(13)NO(3), was obtained as a by-product of the aldolization reaction of furo[3,4-c]pyridin-3(1H)-one with thio-phene-2-carboxaldehyde. The substituents on the pyridine ring are nearly coplanar, with an 8.1 (2)° rotation of the hydroxmethyl group from this plane. The mol-ecules assemble in the crystal structure as chains via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding between the pyridine N atom and a neighbouring hydroxy-methyl OH group.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(12)N(2)O(2), was synthesized from the reaction of 6-methyl-pyridin-2-amine and ethyl 3-bromo-2-oxopropionate. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(14)H(11)NO(3), isolated from the reaction of 2-bromo-1-phenyl-ethanone and pyridine-4-carboxylic acid using triethyl-amine as a base to deprotonate the organic acid, the mol-ecular packing is stabilized by C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the phenyl and pyridine rings. The C-C-O-C torsion angle for the linkage between the two carbonyl groups is -80.8 (2)°, and the planes of the phenyl and pyridyl rings form a dihedral angle of 65.8 (1)°.
