Catena-Poly[[[[3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole]cadmium(II)]-?-oxalato] dihydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Cd(C(2)O(4))(C(8)H(7)N(3))]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cd(II) ion is chelated by two O,O'-bidentate oxalate ions and an N,N'-bidentate 3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole mol-ecule, thereby generating a distorted cis-CdN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry. Adjacent pairs of Cd ions are bridged by oxalate ions, resulting in wave-like polymeric chains propagating in [100]. The packing is consolidated by N-H-O and O-H-O hydrogen bonds.

The neighboring Cd(II) ions are bridged by the L ligands, forming a zigzag polymeric chain structure. The chains are further extended into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure through inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

A second, symmetry-generated, oxalate ion completes a distorted cis-NiN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry for both metal centres. The bridging oxalate ions result in two distinct wave-like polymeric chains propagating in [100]. The packing is consolidated by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The crystal studied was found to be an inversion twin.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C2O4)(C10H7N3S)] n , the Mn(II) cation is chelated by one 2-(1,3-thia-zol-4-yl)-1H-benzimidazole ligand and two oxalate anions in a distorted N2O4 octa-hedral geometry. Two independent oxalate anions are located on individual inversion centers and bridge the Mn(II) cations into a polymeric chain running along [101]. The thia-zole ring is approximately coplanar with the benzimidazole ring system [dihedral angle = 4.19?(9)°]. In the crystal, classical N-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the polymeric chains into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:In the title one-dimensional coordination polymer, {[Ni(CHO(2))(2)(C(20)H(14)N(4))(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Ni(II) atom lies on a crystallographic inversion centre. It is coordinated by two formate O atoms, two water O atoms and two N atoms from two 1,4-bis-(1H-benzimidazol-1-yl)benzene (bzb) ligands, resulting in a distorted trans-NiN(2)O(4) octa-hedral coordination geometry. The bzb mol-ecule acts as a bridging ligand to connect the metal atoms into a chain propagating in [1[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]]. The dihedral angle between the benzimidazole ring and the central benzene ring in the ligand is 38.16 (9)°. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds crosslink the chains into (010) sheets.

Project description:The hydro-thermally prepared title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(7)N(3))(3)](2)[PMo(12)O(40)]·6H(2)O, is isotypic with its Mn(II) analogue [Hao et al. (2010 ?). Acta Cryst. E66, m231-m232]. The Cd(II) cation is in a distorted octa-hedral environment, coordinated by six N atoms from three chelating 3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole ligands. In the reduced heteropolyanion, two O atoms of the central PO(4) group ( symmetry) are equally disordered about an inversion centre. N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds contribute to the crystal packing. Compared with the Mn(II) analogue, the Cd-N bond lengths are longer at 2.316?(7)-2.334?(6)?Å, versus 2.224?(6)-2.283?(5)?Å for Mn-N, whereas all other bond lengths and angles and the hydrogen-bonding motifs are very similar in the two structures.

Project description:In the polymeric title compound, [Cd(C(4)H(2)O(4))(C(19)H(12)N(4)O)(2)](n), the Cd(II) centre is eight-coordinated within an N(4)O(4) donor set derived from two chelating 4-(1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthrolin-2-yl)phenol ligands and two asymmetrically chelating carboxyl-ate residues of bridging fumarate dianions. The linear chains are linked into a layer in the ac plane via O-H?O(carboxyl-ate) hydrogen bonds. Layers are connected into double layers via N-H?O(carboxyl-ate) hydrogen bonds and these stack along the b axis. C-H?? inter-actions are also present. Disorder in the ethyl-ene portion of the fumarate was modelled over two positions, the major component having a site-occupancy factor of 0.677?(15).

The central Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by four O-donor atoms from separate bidentate bridging ox ligands and five O-donor atoms from the two ina ligands (both bidentate) and a symmetry-related ina ligand [Sm-O = 2.389?(4)-2.791?(4)?Å], giving a distorted monocapped square anti-prismatic geometry. The Ag(I) ion is three-coordinated in a T-shaped geometry involving two ina N-donor atoms [Ag-N = 2.181?(6) and 2.185?(5)?Å] and a bridging oxalate O-donor atom [Ag-O = 2.620?(4)?Å]. The three-dimensional heterometallic Sm-Ag coordination polymer, having a unique (3,4,6)-connected five-nodal net topology, is constructed from two-dimensional samarium-oxalate layers and pillared Ag(ina)(2) subunits. Inter-molecular water-carboxyl-ate O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are also present.
