Bis[5-(2-naphth-yl)-1H-pyrazole-?N]silver(I) nitrate.

ABSTRACT: The Ag atom in the title compound, [Ag(C(13)H(10)N(2))(2)]NO(3), shows an approximately linear coordination [N-Ag-N 162.6?(4)°]. The coordination geometry is distorted towards square-planar owing to two long Ag?O inter-actions [Ag?O = 2.634?(15) and 2.861?(13)?Å]. In the crystal structure, the Ag atom lies on a special position of 2 site symmetry; the nitrate anion is disordered about the special position. The crystal under investigation was a racemic twin with a 33% minor twin component.

The benzimidazole rings in adjacent mol-ecules are parallel with an average inter-planar distance of 3.461 Å; adjacent mol-ecules are linked through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a linear chain along the b-axis direction.

Crystal structure of bis-[2-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)aniline]silver(I) nitrate.

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, [Ag(C13H11N3)2]NO3, the Ag(I) atom lies on a crystallographic inversion center and is coordinated by four N atoms from two bidentate 2-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)aniline ligands in a distorted square-planar geometry. The Ag-N(aniline) bond [2.729 (2) Å] is significantly longer than the Ag-N(imidazole) bond [2.165 (1) Å]. In the ligand, the aniline ring is twisted by 37.87 (6)° from the mean plane of the benzimidazole ring system. The nitrate anion lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis which passes through the N atom and one of the O atoms. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the components, forming a layer parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The title compound, [Ag(C(5)H(8)N(2))(2)]SbF(6), contains an Ag(+) cation almost linearly bonded to two N atoms of dimethylpyrazole ligands [N-Ag-N = 176.54?(18)°]. The structure exhibits hydrogen bonding between the two dimethyl-pyrazole H atoms and two F atoms of one hexa-fluorido-anti-monate anion. Three relatively short Ag?F contacts [2.869?(6), 2.920?(7), and 3.094?(7)?Å] exist between the cation and three different SbF(6) (-) anions. The crystal used for data collection was found to be twinned by non-merohedry, with the two components being related by a 180° rotation around the real or reciprocal a axis. Integration resulted in 11.2% of the total peaks being assigned to component 1, 11.2% to component 2, and 77.6% to both components.

The dihedral angles between the four essentially planar atoms of the pyrazole ring and the fluoro-substituted benzene rings are 2.6?(2) and 82.2?(2)°. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 83.7?(2)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds.
