Diaqua-(triethano-lamine)copper(II) sulfate monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C(6)H(15)NO(3))(H(2)O)(2)]SO(4)·H(2)O, contains a complex cation, a sulfate anion and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. In the complex cation, the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by five O atoms (three of which are from the triethano-lamine ligand and two from coordinated water mol-ecules) and one N atom of the triethano-lamine ligand in a typical Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral geometry. Classical inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cation, the sulfate anion and the water mol-ecule into a two-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(6)H(15)NO(3))(2)]SO(4), contains two triethano-lamine (TEA) ligands bound to an Ni(2+) metal centre, which lies on a crystallographic inversion centre, and one sulfate anion located on a twofold rotation axis such that the asymmetric unit contains one-half molecule of the cation and of the anion. The triethano-lamine ligands coordinate via each axial N atom and two of the three O atoms, while the third arm of the ligand has the hydroxyl group pointing away from the metal centre. The sulfate anions are hydrogen bonded to the coordinated hydroxyl groups and also to the free arm, forming a two-dimensional supra-molecular hydrogen-bonded network expanding parallel to (010).

The distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry of the Cu(II) ion is formed by six O atoms. The -NH- groups of the ligand are involved in intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, while the water mol-ecules participate in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework via inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, LiMn(H(2)O)(2)[BP(2)O(8)]·H(2)O, is built up of an open framework of helical borophosphate ribbons inter-connected by MnO(4)(H(2)O)(2) octa-hedra, forming one-dimensional channels along [001] occupied by Li(+) cations and disordered H(2)O mol-ecules (site occupancy 0.5). The Li cations reside in two partially occupied sites [occupancies = 0.42 (3) and 0.289 (13)] near the helices.

Project description:The title Cu(II) coordination polymer, {[Cu(C(7)H(10)N(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the reaction of equimolar Cu(NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O and 1,3-bis-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane (btp) in a water-methanol solvent. The Cu(II) atom is located on a centre of inversion and has an elongated octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by four N atoms from four symmetry-related btp ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules. Adjacent Cu(II) atoms are connected by btp ligands, generating a double-stranded chain. The nitrate anion is disordered over two positions in a 0.828?(7):0.172?(2) ratio.

Lithium diaqua-nickel(II) catena-borodiphosphate(V) monohydrate.

Project description:The title borophosphate LiNi(H(2)O)(2)[BP(2)O(8)]·H(2)O was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The crystal structure is isotypic with the Mg analogue and features helical [BP(2)O(8)](3-) borophosphate ribbons, constructed by BO(4) (2 symmetry) and PO(4) tetra-hedra. The borate groups share all their oxygen apices with adjacent phosphate tetra-hedra. The ribbons are connected via Ni(2+) cations that are located on twofold rotation axes. The cations have a slightly distorted octa-hedral oxygen coordination by four O atoms from the anion and by two water mol-ecules. The voids within the helices are occupied by Li(+) cations, likewise located on twofold rotation axes, in an irregular environment of five O atoms. The structure is stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonds between coordinated or uncoordinated water mol-ecules and O atoms that are part of the helices.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Cu(C(10)H(8)N(2)S(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](C(8)H(5)O(4))(2)·H(2)O}(n), contains one Cu(II) ion, two bridging di-4-pyridyl disulfide (4-DPDS) ligands of the same chirality, two coordinating water mol-ecules, two hydrogen phthalate anions and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The polymeric structure consists of two types of polymeric chains, each composed from repeated chiral rhomboids. The Cu(II) ions adopt a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and are coordinated by four pyridine N atoms and two water O atoms. The coordinated water mol-ecules and hydrogen phthalate anions are located between the repeated rhomboidal chains, and form hydrogen bonds with the coordinated water mol-ecules.

The water mol-ecules occupy basal and apical positions of the square-pyramidal coordination polyhedron. Each quinoline-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate dianion bridges two adjacent Cu(II) ions, forming a polymeric chain along [010]. The chains are further connected via O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions and quinoline ring π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.725 (4) Å], generating a three-dimensional structure. Lattice water mol-ecules participate in the crystal structure via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The O atom of the uncoordinated water mol-ecule lies on a crysatllographic twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
