Catena-Poly[[[diaqua-copper(II)]-bis-(?(2)-di-4-pyridyl disulfide-?N:N')] bis-(hydrogen phthalate) monohydrate].

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Cu(C(10)H(8)N(2)S(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](C(8)H(5)O(4))(2)·H(2)O}(n), contains one Cu(II) ion, two bridging di-4-pyridyl disulfide (4-DPDS) ligands of the same chirality, two coordinating water mol-ecules, two hydrogen phthalate anions and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The polymeric structure consists of two types of polymeric chains, each composed from repeated chiral rhomboids. The Cu(II) ions adopt a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and are coordinated by four pyridine N atoms and two water O atoms. The coordinated water mol-ecules and hydrogen phthalate anions are located between the repeated rhomboidal chains, and form hydrogen bonds with the coordinated water mol-ecules.

Project description:The title Cu(II) coordination polymer, {[Cu(C(7)H(10)N(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the reaction of equimolar Cu(NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O and 1,3-bis-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane (btp) in a water-methanol solvent. The Cu(II) atom is located on a centre of inversion and has an elongated octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by four N atoms from four symmetry-related btp ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules. Adjacent Cu(II) atoms are connected by btp ligands, generating a double-stranded chain. The nitrate anion is disordered over two positions in a 0.828?(7):0.172?(2) ratio.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear title compound, [Cu(4)I(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S(2))(2)], there are two different Cu(I) atoms with tetra-hedral coordination geometries. One is chelated by a pyridine N atom and an S-donor from one di-2-pyridyl disulfide ligand and coordinated by two I atoms, while the second Cu(I) atom is coordinated by a pyridine-N and three I atoms. Iodine bridges between the Cu(I) atoms form a tetra-nuclear structure.

Project description:The title hydrated salt, 2C(5)H(8)N(3) (+)·C(8)H(5)O(4) (-)·NO(3) (-)·H(2)O, was obtained fortuitously from the reaction between 2,6-diamino-pyridine, phthalic acid and Co(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O at 343?K. The asymmetric unit consists of two crystallographically independent 2,6-diamino-pyridinium cations, a hydrogen phthalate anion, a nitrate ion and a water mol-ecule of crystallization which in the crystal structure are linked by inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network. In the hydrogen phthalate anion, there is a very strong intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond.

The -NH- groups of the ligand are involved in intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, while the water mol-ecules participate in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework via inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:Single crystals of the title organic-inorganic hybrid, {(C(5)H(7)N(2))(2)[MnCl(2)(H(2)O)(2)]Cl(2)}(n), were synthesized from an ethanol solution containing manganese(II) chloride tetra-hydrate and 4-amino-pyridine under acidic conditions. The asymmetric unit contains a disordered organic cation (occupancies in the ratio 0.72:0.28), a chloride anion and an MnCl(H(2)O) moiety with the Mn(II) atom located on an inversion center. The structure is built up of infinite chains of edge-sharing [MnCl(4)(H(2)O)(2)] octa-hedra developing parallel to the a axis which are separated by the 4-amino-pyridinium ions and discrete chloride ions. The organic cations occupy the empty space around each inorganic chain. Structural cohesion is organized through N-H?Cl and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, which build up a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the polymeric structure of the title compound {[Li(2)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)Li(H(2)O)(2)Li(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the coordination of two independent Li(I) ions is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and that of the other two independent Li(I) ions is distorted tetra-hedral. The former two Li(I) ions are bridged by hetero-ring N atoms of two independent pyridazine-3,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, making a dimeric moiety. The carboxyl-ato-O atoms of both bidentate ligands bridge the dimers to adjacent independent aqua-coordinated Li(I) ions, forming mol-ecular ribbons. The latter are bridged by ligand carboxyl-ato and aqua O atoms, forming mol-ecular layers parallel to (100) which are held together by an extended system of O-H?O hydrogen bonds.
