ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(2)(C(10)H(2)O(4)S(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)]·2C(3)H(7)NO, contains one half of the formula unit, with the rest generated by inversion. The cobalt ion sits in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment and is ligated to four N atoms of two 1,10-phenanthroline molecules and to two O atoms of two dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thio-phene-2,6-dicarb-oxy-l-ate anions. The anions act as bridges between the Co(II) centers.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(3)(C(5)HN(2)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, is a trinuclear copper(II) complex in which two centrosymmetrically related pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate(3-) and 1,10-phenanthroline ligands bind three Cu(II) atoms, with one Cu(II) atom located on a center of symmetry. In each complex, there are four coordinated water mol-ecules and two solvent water mol-ecules, which participate in extensive hydrogen-bond patterns. These inter-actions, as well as ?-? inter-actions between neighbouring 1,10-phenanthroline ligands [shortest atom-to-atom distance = 3.363?(3)?Å], extend the crystal structure into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Cu2(C6H2O5)2(C12H8N2)2(H2O)3]·C3H7NO} n , contains two Cu(II) atoms, two furan-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate (L) ligands, two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, three coordinating water mol-ecules and one N,N-dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule. Each Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from one phen ligand, two O atoms from two L ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The main difference between the environments of the two independent Cu atoms is in the Cu-Owater distances, which are 2.415?(2) and 2.639?(2)?Å for one Cu(II) atom and 2.3560?(19) and 2.911?(4)?Å for the other. Ligands L and one independent water mol-ecule bridge the Cu(II) atoms, forming corrugated polymeric layers parallel to the ab plane. Inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(14)H(8)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), the Cd(II) ion is seven-coordinated in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry by five O atoms from bridging biphenyl-3,3'-dicarboylate (dpda) ligands and two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline (1,10-phen) ligand. In the crystal, dinuclear units with a Cd⋯Cd separation of 3.8208 (7) Å are observed. Each of these dinuclear units is bridged via 3,3'-bpda in a chelating/chelating and bridging fashion, generating a zigzag chain along the c axis. The intra-molecular Cu?Tb distance of 5.0592?(11)?Å indicates weak inter-actions between the Cu(II) and Tb(III) atoms. The coordination cations, nitrate anions and water mol-ecules are connected via O-H?O hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to the (001) plane. Moreover, there are extensive ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 4.332?(7) and 3.878?(5)?Å] between the phenanthroline ligands and between phenanthroline and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands.
