[3,3'-Dimesityl-1,1'-(4,5:16,17-dibenzo-3,6,9,12,15,18-hexa-oxaeicosane-1,20-di-yl)diimidazolin-2-yl-idene]dithio-cyanato-palladium(II).

ABSTRACT: The coordination geometry of the Pd atom in the title compound, [Pd(SCN)(2)(C(46)H(54)N(4)O(6))], is approximately square-planar. The N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) metallacrown ether ligand binds to the Pd atom in a trans orientation through the carbene C atoms of the two imidazole rings and generates a 25-membered chelate ring. Two mutually trans S-bound thio-cyanate ligands complete the coordination.

Project description:In the title compound, C(32)H(30)N(4)O(2)S(2), the carbonyl and thio-carbonyl groups are found in a rare synclinal conformation, with an S-C?C-O pseudo-torsion angle of 62.6?(2)°. The mol-ecule has C(i) = S(2) point-group symmetry with a crystallographic center of inversion located in the middle of the ethyl-ene bridge. One of the symmetry-independent phenyl rings is disordered over two orientations, with a site-occupation ratio of 70:30. The distances between the centroids of the nearest phenyl rings are equal to one of the lattice constants [a = 4.7767?(2)?Å], so stacking inter-actions are extremely weak. Mol-ecules are joined by bifurcated hydrogen bonds (N-H?O and N-H?S), forming a ladder-like arrangement along [100]. van der Waals forces combine these ladders into a three-dimensional structure. The dependency between the S?O distance and the improper S=C?C=O torsion angle based on 739 structures containing the CC(=O)NC(=S)N moiety is discussed.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(28)H(30)N(4)O(8)S(2)·C(2)H(6)O, the benzene ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 38.50 (6) and 5.68 (5)° with respect to the trimethoxy-phenyl rings, while the two trimethoxy-phenyl rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 44.18 (5)°. Intra-molecular N-H⋯O and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds result in the formation of non-planar six-, seven- and eight-membered rings. The twisting modes of the two side arms are different [C-N-C-O and C-N-C-N torsion angles = 0.1 (3) and 11.8 (3)°, respectively, in one arm, and 4.6 (3) and -11.5 (3)° in the other]. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(24)H(38)N(6))], is a thio-cyanate-coordinated aza-macrocyclic nickel(II) complex. There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit and their bond lengths and angles are similar. Both Ni atoms have a tetra-gonally distorted octa-hedral geometry, in which the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by the four secondary N atoms of the aza-macrocyclic ligand and by two N atoms of the thio-cyanate ions. The average equatorial Ni-N bond lengths are shorter than the average axial Ni-N bond lengths [2.071?(1) and 2.115?(2)?Å, respectively]. N-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between a secondary amine N atom and the adjacent thio-cyanate ion leads to a polymeric chain along [100].

The two imidazole rings are each planar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.0016 and 0.0060?Å) and make a dihedral angle of 45.3?(18)°. Intra-molecular O-H?F hydrogen bonds occur. Inter-molecular C-H?F, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.
