Of the four Cl atoms, two are close to adjacent S atoms [Cl?S = 3.320?(1) and 3.376?(1)?Å]; the Sn-Cl bonds involving these two Cl atoms are longer than the other two Sn-Cl bonds.

Project description:The Sn atom in the title compound, [Sn(C(7)H(7))(2)(C(5)H(5)N(2)O)Cl], shows a distorted C(2)ClNOSn trigonal-bipyramidal coordin-ation, with a Cl-Sn-O axial angle of 163.77?(3)°, but the C-Sn-C angle [141.43?(7)°] deviates from 120°. The chelating ligand exists in a zwitterionic form. Adjacent molecules are linked by an N-H(pyridinium)?O hydrogen bond, forming a chain running along the c axis of the orthorhombic unit cell.

Project description:The title compound, (C(14)H(16)N)[Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(2)O(2))], was synthesised by allowing C(2)O(4)(Bz(2)NH(2))(2) (Bz = benzyl) to react with SnPh(3)Cl. The asymmetric unit is built up by four SnPh(3)C(2)O(4) anions and four Bz(2)NH(2) cations which are related by a pseudo-inversion centre. Each Sn(IV) cation is five-coordinated by the three phenyl groups and two O atoms belonging to the chelating oxalate ligand; the coordination geometry is that of a distorted trigonal bipyramid. Anions and cations are linked through N-H?O hydrogen bonds into a layer structure parallel to (001). Moreover, the anion-cation pairs are associated by two bifurcated N-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating pseudo-dimers. One of the phenyl groups of one anion is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.69:0.31 ratio. The Flack parameter value of 0.44?(1) indicates racemic twinning.

The resulting C(2)ClS(2) donor set defines a coordination geometry inter-mediate between square pyramidal and trigonal bipyramidal with a slight tendency towards the former.

Project description:In the title complex, [Sn(2)(C(7)H(7))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(3))(2)(C(2)H(5)OH)(2)], the Sn(IV) atom is seven-coordinated in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry by three O atoms and one N atom from the pyruvate benzoyl hydrazone ligand, one ethanol O atom and two axial C atoms from trans-benzyl groups, thus forming a dimeric mol-ecule ([Formula: see text] symmetry) via weak Sn-O inter-actions. The C atoms of one phenyl ring and the ethanol mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites with site-occupancy factors of 0.57?(5):0.43?(5) and 0.79?(2):0.21?(2), respectively. Intermolecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

Each Sn atom has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, with the equatorial plane formed by an oxido O atom and two C atoms of two benzyl anions. The configuration of the complex is stabilized by a pair of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are linked into zigzag chains along [110] by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
