ABSTRACT: The pyridyl and aryl rings in the title compound, C(16)H(15)NO(3)·H(2)O, which are located at the ends of the propenone unit, are nearly coplanar with this unit [dihedral angles = 3.74?(14) and 5.06?(13)°, respectively]; the rings are inclined at an angle of 6.2?(1)° with respect to each other. The solvent water mol-ecule forms hydrogen bonds with the pyridyl N atom and also with a symmetry-related water mol-ecule.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(14)O(3)S, has two symmetry-independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit with almost identical geometry. The dihedral angle between the benzene and thio-phene rings is 1.61 (11)° in one mol-ecule and 7.21 (11)° in the other. In both mol-ecules, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate rings of graph-set motif S(5). The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π inter-actions involving the benzene and thio-phene rings, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5249 (13) and 3.6057 (13) Å.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C(15)H(14)O(4), the benzene and furyl rings are inclined to each other with a dihedral angle of 41.5 (1)°. An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-action generates an S(5) ring motif. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are stacked along the b axis and the crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions. In addition, π-π stacking inter-actions with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.5855 (11) Å are observed.

Project description:In the title compound, C17H16O3, the dihedral angle between the mean planes of the benzene rings is 57.1 (1)°. The mean plane of the ketone group is twisted by 10.0 (5)° from that of the di-meth-oxy-phenyl ring. The two di-meth-oxy-phenyl groups are twisted slighly from the mean plane of the phenyl ring, with C-O-C-C torsion angles of 6.4 (2) and -7.9 (2)° [r.m.s. deviations = 0.15 (3) and 0.18 (3) Å for the two methoxy C atoms]. In the crystal, weak centroid-centroid π-π stacking inter-actions, with inter-centroid distances of 3.8939 (11) and 3.9430 (10) Å are observed.

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(14)H(11)O)], exists as the E isomer, and the substituent is fully conjugated with the attached five-membered ring. The solvent water mol-ecule forms hydrogen bonds to carbonyl O and quinoline N atoms derived from two mol-ecules and through the application of a centre of inversion, a 16-membered {?HOH?OC(3)N}(2) synthon is formed to stabilize the resulting tetra-meric (two organic mol-ecules plus two water mol-ecules) aggregate. These are connected into a two-dimensional array via two C-H?O contacts, also involving the water mol-ecule. The layers stack along the c axis, being linked by C-H?? inter-actions.
