ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(27)H(30)O(8), the cyclo-hexane ring is in a chair conformation, while the five-membered ring adopts an envelope conformation. The 1,3-dioxane ring is oriented with respect to the benzene rings at dihedral angles of 53.38?(3) and 55.31?(3)°, while the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 71.56?(3)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into chains.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(26)H(26)Br(2)O(6), the cyclo-hexane ring is in a chair conformation, while the five-membered and 1,3-dioxane rings both adopt envelope conformations. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 77.21?(3)°. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers, forming R(2) (2)(14) ring motifs. One of the Br atoms, the methyl C and H atoms, and the C atom bonded to the methyl group of the five-membered ring are disordered over two positions. The Br atoms were refined with occupancies of 0.51?(4) and 0.49?(4), while the C and H atoms were refined with occupancies of 0.320?(18) and 0.680?(18).

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(22)O(3), was prepared via amino-acid-promoted Robinson annulation followed by tandem Pd/C-mediated hydrogenation and oxidative cyclization. This product was instrumental in determining the feasibility of a stereocontrolled hydrogenation in which the directing hydroxyl group is adjacent to the 6-7-ring network and its olefinic component. The asymmetric unit consists of a single mol-ecule with normal geometric parameters. The absolute configuration was assigned based on the known enanti-omeric prescursor. Inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions link each mol-ecule with four neighboring mol-ecules.

Project description:In the course of our studies of silicon-containing anti-cancer compounds, the title compound, C(18)H(19)NO(3)Si, was synthesized. The mol-ecular geometry including bond distances and angles involving the Si atoms are typical. Torsion angles associated with the isoindoline ring and the silyl group [C-N-C(methyl-ene)-Si = 90.5?(2) and -93.1?(2)°] indicate that there is no inter-action between the O and Si atoms despite silicon's high affinity for oxygen.
