ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(SO(4))(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), the Cu, S and two O atoms lie on a mirror plane. The Cu atom is in a distorted octa-hedral environment and the ethyl-enediamine ligand is in a gauche conformation. The sulfate dianion is bridging, forming a one-dimensional chain. A two-dimensional net parallel to (001) is generated by N-H?O hydrogen bonding between the chains.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(14)H(16)N)(2)[HgCl(2)(SO(4))], consists of an infinite chain propagating along the c direction, containing Hg(II) ions tetra-coordinated by two bridging O atoms of bis-monodentate sulfate anions and two chloride ligands. In the the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonding between the cations and the anionic chains consolidates the packing. The crystal structure was determined from an inversion twin with approximately equal twin domains.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](C(13)H(9)O(2))(2)·2.66H(2)O, the Cu(II) centre (located at an inversion centre) is coordinated by two bidentate ethyl-enediamine (en) ligands and two water O atoms in a typical Jahn-Teller distorted octahedral geometry. The amino groups and the water mol-ecules are disordered over two distinct crystallographic positions with occupancies of 1/3 and 2/3. In the crystal, the cations and anions are disposed in alternating layers. One of the water mol-ecules of crystallization is disordered and the other has a fractional occupation. In the 2/3 occupancy component, water mol-ecules are organized into a chain composed of hexa-meric units inter-connected by carboxyl-ate bridges.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)](C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4)S(2))·1.5H(2)O, there are two half-molecules of the cationic complex in the asymmetric unit. The Cu(2+) ions lie on inversion centres and are octa-hedrally coordinated by two ethyl-enediamine (en) and two aqua ligands in a typical Jahn-Teller distorted environment with the water O atoms in the axial positions. Two 2-mercaptonicotinate units (mnic) are linked by a disulfide bridge. All the ethyl-enediamine N-H and O-H groups form inter-molecular hydrogen bonds with acceptor O and N atoms, giving rise to a three-dimensional network. One of the uncoordinated water molecules has a site occupation factor of 0.5.

O atoms of adjacent mol-ecules coordinate in the axial positions. Jahn-Teller tetra-gonal distortion is evident in the coordination geometry [Cu-N and Cu-O equatorial distances of 1.971?(3) and 2.045?(2)?Å, respectively, with a Cu-O axial distance of 2.433?(3)?Å]. Project description:The environment of the Co(II) ion in the title compound, [Co(SO(4))(C(6)H(7)N)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), exhibits an octa-hedral configuration with the two 3-methyl-pyridine ligands lying in cis positions with respect to each other and trans to the two coordinated water mol-ecules. The axial positions are occupied by O atoms of the sulfate ions. Co and S atoms occupy special positions (twofold axis, Wyckoff position 4c). Neighboring Co(II) ions are covalently connected with each other through the sulfate ions, thus creating infinite polymeric chains that run along the c axis. The water mol-ecules are connected with neighboring sulfate ions through strong O-H?O hydrogen bonds. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds parallel to the propagation direction of the chains stabilize the polymeric chains, and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between chains connect neighboring chains with each other, thus leading to polymeric double chains.

In the chain, trans-[Cu(imidazole)(2)](2+) units are sequentially bridged by bis-bidentate oxalate ligands, resulting in an octa-hedral CuO(4)N(2) donor set. The Cu⋯Cu separation through the oxalate bridge is 5.620 (5) Å. Both the Cu atoms and the C-C bond of the oxalate bridge are bis-ected by inversion centres.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[Cu(SO4)(C18H14N4O2)(H2O)]·C3H7NO} n , the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms of two briding N,N'-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)isophthalamide ligands, two O atoms of two bridging SO4(2-) anions and a water mol-ecule, giving a distorted CuN2O3 square-pyramidal geometry. The whole repeating mol-ecular unit is generated by inversion symmetry. This leads to the formation of a looped-chain one-dimensional coordination polymer propagating along [110]. The dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules are linked to the chains via O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The chains are linked via N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional networks parallel to (001). There are also a number of C-H?O inter-actions present and a parallel slipped ?-? inter-action. The latter involves inversion-related pyridine rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.594?(2)?Å [normal distance = 3.3338?(13) and slippage = 1.341?Å]. These inter-actions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the cyrstal structure of the title compound, [Cu(NCS)(C(18)H(20)N(2)O(2))](n), the Cu(I) atom is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two imino N atoms from a bidentate chelating Schiff base ligand, and one N and one S atoms from two thio-cyanate anions. The thio-cyanate anion bridges the Cu(I) atoms, forming a zigzag chain along [101]. The Schiff base ligand adopts an E,E configuration and the dihedral angle between the terminal benzene rings is 53.68?(8)°.
