Catena-Poly[[bis-(1-ethyl-1H-imidazole-κN)copper(II)]-μ-oxalato-κO,O:O,O].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cu(C(2)O(4))(C(5)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), is composed of one-dimensional linear chains running parallel to the a axis. In the chain, trans-[Cu(imidazole)(2)](2+) units are sequentially bridged by bis-bidentate oxalate ligands, resulting in an octa-hedral CuO(4)N(2) donor set. The Cu⋯Cu separation through the oxalate bridge is 5.620 (5) Å. Both the Cu atoms and the C-C bond of the oxalate bridge are bis-ected by inversion centres.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)(NO(2))(4)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(4)], the asymmetric unit consists of two moieties containing one Cu ion, two nitrite ions and two 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole mol-ecules associated via weak Cu-O inter-actions. Each Cu(II) atom displays an elongted square-pyramidal CuN(2)O(3) coordination geometry with a slight tetra-hedral distortion in the basal plane. The dimeric units are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)](n), the carboxyl-ate groups of the 3-nitro-phthalate dianion ligand coordinate the Zn(II) ion in a bis-monodentate mode. The Zn(II) ion shows distorted tetra-hedral coordination as it is bonded to two O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of symmetry-related 3-nitro-phthalate anions and two N atoms of two independent 1-methyl-imidazole mol-ecules. The bridging 3-nitro-phthalate ligand allows the formation of one-dimensional chains in the c direction. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The Ni(II) atom, lying on a twofold rotation axis, has an octa-hedral coordination geometry involving two N atoms from two pyridine ligands and four O atoms from two oxalate ligands. The Ni atoms are connected by the tetra-dentate bridging oxalate ligands into a one-dimensional zigzag chain.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(6)H(9)N(2)O(3)S)(2)](n), the copper(II) ion sits on an inversion center and is chelated by the imidazole N and sulfonate O atoms of two ligands in equatorial positions. O atoms of adjacent mol-ecules coordinate in the axial positions. Jahn-Teller tetra-gonal distortion is evident in the coordination geometry [Cu-N and Cu-O equatorial distances of 1.971 (3) and 2.045 (2) Å, respectively, with a Cu-O axial distance of 2.433 (3) Å]. The structure is propagated by an infinite chain of eight-membered (Cu-O-S-O)(2) ring systems along the a axis. Only N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding exists between the chains.

Each Ni(II) atom is chelated by two oxalate ligands and one 2,2'-bipyridine, forming a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Oxlate acts as a bridge to link neighbouring pairs of Ni(II) cations, forming a one-dimensional wave-like chain. The crystal showed partial inversion twinning.
