ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Mn(N(3))(2)(C(9)H(10)N(2)O)(2)], possesses crystallographically imposed twofold symmetry. The Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by strong inter-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(7)NO)(2)], the Mn(II) atom shows site symmetry 2. The distorted octa-hedral environment of Mn(II) is defined by two N atoms [Mn-N = 2.217 (4) and 2.132 (5) Å] and one O atom [Mn-O 2.305 (4) Å]. There are inter-molecular O-H⋯S hydrogen bonds and inter-molecular π-π stacking inter-actions between adjacent (2-pyrid-yl)methano-late ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5569 (7) Å], leading to a chain structure running along [100].

Project description:In the title polymeric compound, [Mn(N(3))(2)(C(13)H(11)N(3))(2)](n), each Mn(II) centre is six-coordinated in an octahedral geometry by six N atoms from four 1-(4-pyridylmeth-yl)-1H-benzimidazole (L) ligands and two azide anions (N(3) (-)). Each of the Mn(II) ions lies on an inversion centre. The L ligands and N(3) (-) anions bridge adjacent Mn(II) centres, generating a polymeric chain running along the [110] direction. Adjacent polymeric chains are arranged in a two-dimensional network parallel to the (001) plane, linked by C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(C20H21N3)2](ClO4)2, two tridentate (2-methyl-benz-yl)bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine (L) ligands form the Mn(II) complex [MnL 2](ClO4)2. The Mn(II) ion lies on a twofold axis and the complex cation is significantly distorted from regular octa-hedral geometry. The packing is stabilized by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions between the cations and anions, which link them into a zigzag ribbon along [101]. The perchlorate anion is disordered and was constrained to be tetra-hedral with two orientations having occupancies of 0.768 (4) and 0.232 (4). The 2-methylbenzyl moiety is also disordered over two sets of sites, with occupancies of 0.508 (15) and 0.492 (15).

In the ligand, the dihedral angle between the aniline ring and the benzimidazole ring system is 30.43 (7)°. The discrete complex mol-ecule is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional network.

The three CO ligands have C-Mn-C angles in the range 89.44 (10)-92.31 (9)°, while the three N atoms of the tripodal ligand form significantly smaller N-Mn-N angles of 82.76 (2)-85.51 (6)°. The three N atoms of the tripodal ligand and the three carbonyl ligands coordinate facially. In the crystal, the trifluoro-methane-sulfonate counter anion is connected by a medium-strength O-H⋯O hydrogen bond to the hydroxyl group of the manganese complex.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(20)H(14)N(4)·CH(4)O, contains two independent half-mol-ecules, each located on an inversion centre, and a methanol solvent mol-ecule. The benzimidazolyl groups form different dihedral angles [24.0?(1) and 11.6?(1)°] with the plane of the central benzene ring in the two mol-ecules. In the crystal, a two-dimensional network is formed through N-H? N, N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the benzimidazole units and methanol solvent mol-ecules. ?-? stacking inter-actions also occur between the benzimidazole rings of adjacent mol-ecules, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.720?(14)?Å and inter-planar distances of 3.53?(1)?Å .
