ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(4)H(6)N(3) (+)·NO(3) (-), the cation is coplanar with the anion (r.m.s. deviation = 0.048?Å), and links to the anion via an N-H?O hydrogen bond, forming an ion pair. In the crystal, adjacent ion pairs are further linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds into linear chains running along the b axis.

Anions and cations are connected via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The mol-ecules crystallize in planes parallel to (11).

Project description:In the title compound, C(4)H(6)N(3) (+)·H(2)O(4)P(-)·H(2)O, the pyrimidin-ium ring is essentially planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.0016 Å. In the structure, pairs of symmetry-related anions are connected into centrosymmetric clusters via strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds forming six-membered rings with an R(2) (2)(6) motif. These clusters are inter-connected via water mol-ecules through OW-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, building an infinite layer parallel to the ab plane. Moreover, infinite chains of 2-amino-pyrimidinium cations spread along the a-axis direction. These chains are connected to the inorganic layer through N-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, which, together with electrostatic and van der Waals inter-actions, contribute to the cohesion and stability of the network in the crystal structure.

The dihydrogen phosphate anions form one-dimensional chains along [100], via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The 2-amino-4-methyl-pyrimidinium cations are linked to these chains by means of two different kinds of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Neighbouring chains are linked via C-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds forming two-dimensional slab-like networks lying parallel to (01-1).

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C4H6ClN4 (+)·C5H7O4 (-), the cation is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.037?(1)?Å for all non-H atoms. The anions are self-assembled through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a supra-molecular zigzag chain with graph-set notation C(8). In the crystal, the protonated N atom and the 2-amino group of the cation are hydrogen bonded to the carboxyl-ate O atoms of the anion via a pair of N-H?O hydrogen bonds with an R 2 (2)(8) ring motif. This motif further self-organizes through N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating an array of six hydrogen bonds, the rings having graph-set notation R 3 (2)(8), R 2 (2)(8), R 4 (2)(8), R 2 (2)(8) and R 3 (2)(8). In addition, another type of R 2 (2)(8) motif is formed by inversion-related pyrimidinium cations via N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (101).
