ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(14)H(20)N(2)O(5)S·CH(4)O, the pyran-ose and pyridine rings are linked through an S atom. The pyran-ose ring has a normal chair conformation. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond occurs. Inter-molecular O-H?O, N-H?O, O-H?N and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title solvate, C15H15N3O2S·CH3OH, the thio-semicarbazone mol-ecule is approximately planar; the maximum deviation from the mean plane is 0.4659?(14)?Å and the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 9.83?(8)°. This conformation is supported by an intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, the thio-semicarbazone mol-ecules are linked into dimers by pairs of N-H?S hydrogen bonds, thereby generating R 2 (2)(8) loops. The methanol solvent mol-ecule bonds to the thio-semicarbazone mol-ecule through a bifurcated O-H?(O,O) hydrogen bond and also accepts an O-H?O link from the thio-semicarbazone mol-ecule. Together, these links generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [CdCl2(C13H12N4S)]·CH3OH, the coord-ination geometry of the Cd(II) ion is slightly distorted square-pyramidal, as indicated by the ? index of 0.36?(8). The S atom, two N atoms from the pyridyl-azomethine moiety and one of the Cl atoms comprise the basal plane, while the other Cl atom occupies the apical position. The hydrazinecarbo-thio-amide moiety adopts an E conformation with respect to the azomethine bond. The solvate mol-ecule in the crystal lattice plays a major role in inter-connecting adjacent mol-ecules by means of O-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. A supra-molecular three-dimensional architecture is sustained in terms of further N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.
