Project description:In the title compound, C7H12N2OS, the 2-sulfanylideneimidazolidin-4-one moiety is nearly planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.054 (2) Å. In the crystal, a pair of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and a pair of N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds each form a centrosymmetric ring with an R 2 (2)(8) graph-set motif. The enanti-omeric R and S mol-ecules are alternately linked into a tape along [1-10] via these pairs of hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C6H10N2OS, the 2-sulfanylideneimidazolidin-4-one fragment is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0033?Å). In the crystal, one amino group is involved in N-H?O hydrogen bonding, which links pairs of mol-ecules into inversion dimers, while the other amino group generates weak N-H?S hydrogen bonds, which link these dimers into chains in [10-1]. The chains are further aggregated into layers parallel to the ac plane through weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The five-membered ring in the title imidazolidinone derivative, C(11)H(12)N(2)O(2)S, adopts an envelope conformation with the S-bound C atom being the flap atom. Overall, the mol-ecule has a U-shaped conformation as both rings are folded towards each other [dihedral angle = 31.66 (6)°]. An eight-membered amide {⋯HNCO}(2) synthon leads to hydrogen-bonded dimeric aggregates in the crystal: these are additionally linked by C-H⋯π inter-actions.

The five-membered imidazolidin-2-one rings in both mol-ecules are twisted about the C-C bond. In the crystal, the A and B mol-ecules are associated via pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming A-B dimers. These dimers are linked via C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming double dimers, which are in turn linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds forming two-dimensional networks lying parallel to (001). There are also C-H⋯π inter-actions present, which consolide the layers and link them, so forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The crystal structure determination of the title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)O, confirms the cis relationship between the phenyl groups at the 4- and 5-positions on the imidazolidine ring. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 48.14 (6)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. These dimers are, in turn, linked into a two-dimensional network via weak N-H⋯π(arene) inter-actions and π-π stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.6937 (11) Å.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(16)N(2)O(3)S, consists of two crystallographically independent mol-ecules with similar geometries and exists in a keto form, the C=O bond lengths being 1.267?(2) and 1.254?(2)?Å. In both mol-ecules, the pyrazole rings are approximately planar, with maximum deviations of 0.017?(2) and 0.010?(2)?Å, and the dihedral angles between the pyrazole and phenyl rings are 83.63?(11) and 70.07?(12)°. In one mol-ecule, an intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond with an S(6) ring motif is observed. Multivalent polyglycerol supported imidazolidin-4-one organocatalysts for enantioselective Friedel-Crafts alkylations.

Project description:The first immobilization of a MacMillan's first generation organocatalyst onto dendritic support is described. A modified tyrosine-based imidazolidin-4-one was grafted to a soluble high-loading hyperbranched polyglycerol via a copper-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction and readily purified by dialysis. The efficiency of differently functionalized multivalent organocatalysts 4a-c was tested in the asymmetric Friedel-Crafts alkylation of N-methylpyrrole with ?,?-unsaturated aldehydes. A variety of substituted enals was investigated to explore the activity of the catalytic system which was also compared with monovalent analogues. The catalyst 4b showed excellent turnover rates and no loss of activity due to immobilization, albeit moderate enantioselectivities were observed. Moreover, easy recovery by selective precipitation allowed the reuse of the catalyst for three cycles.
