The crystal selected for this study proved to be a non-merohedral twin with a minor component of 21.8?(3)%.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(18)H(18)O(2), a symmetrically phenol-substituted divinyl analog, exhibits crystallographically imposed C(2) symmetry. The phenolic and divinyl planar groups inter-sect each other orthogonally, with a dihedral angle of 82.7 (1)°. The structure is stabilized by a short intra-molecular C-H⋯O contact. The mol-ecules are held together by C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a sheet structure parallel to the (201) plane.

Project description:The title naphthalene derivative, C24H20O2, features 4-methy-oxy-substituted benzene rings in the 1 and 4 positions of the naphthalene ring system. There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules (A and B) in asymmetric unit. The independent mol-ecules have very similar conformations in which the naphthalene ring systems are only slightly bent, exhibiting dihedral angles between the constituent benzene rings of 3.76 (15) and 3.39 (15)° for A and B, respectively. The pendent 4-methyoxybenzene rings are splayed out of the plane through the naphthalene ring system to which they are connected [range of dihedral angles = 59.63 (13) to 67.09 (13)°]. In the crystal, the mol-ecular packing is consolidated by inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions, leading to supra-molecular chains along the b axis. The chains assemble without directional inter-actions between them.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C18H16O2S2, reveals crystallographic twofold rotation symmetry (with both S atoms lying on the axis) and one half-mol-ecule defines an asymmetric unit. The dithiine ring is in a boat conformation. The aromatic ring and the C=C bond are nearly coplanar, with small torsion angles of -171.26 (19) and 8.5 (3)°. The two S-C bond lengths [1.7391 (19) and 1.7795 (18) Å] are shorter than single C-S bonds and longer than analogous C=S double bonds, which indicates a certain degree of conjugation between the lone pair on the S atom and π electrons of the C=C bond. The crystal packing only features van der Waals inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C(15)H(16)N(2)O(2)S, the N-C(=S) bond lengths are indicative of the presence of amide-type resonance. The dihedral angles between the thio-urea unit and the attached aromatic rings are 59.80 (5) and 73.41 (4)° while the dihedral angle between the rings is 56.83 (4)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds occur. An N-H⋯π inter-action is observed for the second amino group. The shortest centroid-centroid distance between two aromatic systems is 4.0958 (8) Å.

Project description:There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title bis-chalcone derivative, C(23)H(26)O(7). The mol-ecules are unsymmetrical and almost planar: the dihedral angle between two benzene rings is 1.04?(7)° in one mol-ecule and 2.31?(7)° in the other. The central penta-1,4-dien-3-one fragment makes dihedral angles of 7.61?(7) and 6.82?(7)° with the two adjacent benzene rings in one mol-ecule, while the corresponding values are 7.85?(7) and 9.42?(6)° in the other. In both mol-ecules, the three meth-oxy groups of the two 2,4,6-trimeth-oxy-phenyl units are coplanar with the attached benzene rings [C-O-C-C- torsion angles of -1.5?(2), -7.2?(2) and 4.1?(2)° in one mol-ecule and -0.7?(2), -5.5?(2) and -0.6?(2)° in the other]. The mol-ecular conformations are stabilized by weak intra-molecular C-H?O inter-actions generating two S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions into zigzag chains parallel to the c axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by C-H?? inter-actions and ?-? inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.6433?(8)?Å.
