ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(26)H(20)O(4), the complete molecule is generated by a crystallographic 2-fold axis and the naphthalene ring system is planar within 0.05?(4)?Å. The dihedral angles between the -COO plane, the benzene ring and naphthalene ring system are 12.83?(3) and 12.93?(1)°, respectively. The -COO plane and the benzene ring are almost coplanar, forming a dihedral angle of 2.59?(8)°.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt C(8)H(22)N(4) (2+)·2C(7)H(5)O(2) (-), comprises two independent pairs of half a 2,2'-(piperazine-1,4-di-yl)diethanaminium dication plus a benzoate anion. The dications are symmetrical and lie across crystallographic centres of inversion. The crystal structure was refined as a two-component pseudo-merohedral twin using the twin law 001 0-10 100 [he domain fractions are 0.8645?(8) and 0.1355?(8)]. The anions and cations are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak N-H?O inter-molecular inter-actions to form infinite two-dimensional networks parallel to [101]. The conformation adopted by the cation in the crystal structure is very similar to that adopted by the same cation in the structures of the 2-hy-droxy-benzoate [Cukrowski et al. (2012 ?). Project description:The title compound, C(20)H(22)O(4)S(2), was synthesized by the reaction of 1,4-dibromo-butene with methyl thio-salicylate. The aliphatic segment of this ligand is in an all-trans conformation. The bridging chain, -S-(CH(2))(4)-S-, is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms: 0.056?Å) and its mean plane forms dihedral angles of 16.60?(7) and 5.80?(2)° with the aromatic rings. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H?O inter-actions into chains with graph-set notation C(14) along [0 0 1]. The crystal studied was a racemic twin, the ratio of the twin components being 0.27?(9):0.73?(9).

The benzene and phenyl rings are synclinal to one another, forming a dihedral angle of 49.82?(8)°; the axis of the biphenyl rings makes an 81.05?(9)° angle to the plane of the di-hydro-pyridine ring. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chain motifs running along the a-axis direction. The chains are cross-linked by C-H?O inter-actions, forming sheet motifs running slightly off the (110) plane, together with an intermolecular interaction between head-to tail biphenyl groups, thus making the whole crystal packing a three-dimensional network. Intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds are also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C12H6O4)(C21H18N4)(H2O)] n , the Ni(II) cation is coordinated by three carboxyl-ate O atoms of two naphthalene-1,4-di-carboxyl-ate anions, one water mol-ecule and two N atoms of two 1,1'-(9,9-dimethyl-9H-fluoren-2,7-di-yl)di-1H-imidazole (DFDI) ligands, giving rise to a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Ni(II) ions are linked by the DFDI ligands into chains, which are further connected by the carboxyl-ate anions into double chains that elongate in the the b-axis direction. These double chains are linked by centrosymmetric pairs of O-H?O hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to (10-1). The asymmetric unit consists of one crystallographically independent Ni(II) cation, one carboxyl-ate and one DFDI ligand, as well as of one water mol-ecule, all of them located in general positions.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(20)N(4) (2+)·2BF(4) (-), was prepared by the anion exchange of a dibromide ionic liquid with sodium tetra-fluoro-borate. The asymmetric unit contains one half of the imidazolium cation, which lies about an inversion centre at the mid-point of the central C-C bond of the linking butyl chain. The two planar imidazole rings (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0013?Å) are strictly parallel and separated by 2.625?(7)?Å [vertical distance between the centroids of two imidazole rings], giving the mol-ecule a stepped appearance. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H?F hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions, generating a three-dimensional network.
