ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)COO)(2)(C(18)H(16)N(2)O(2))]·4H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion is six-coordinated in a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral geometry environment defined by four O atoms and two N atoms. A chain structure along [100] is built up by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the uncoordinated water mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(2)(C(14)H(14)N(4))(2)](C(12)H(7)O(4))(2)·4H(2)O, the dinuclear dication has crystallographically imposed inversion symmetry. Each Ag(I) ion is bicoordinated in a slightly distorted linear coordination geometry by the N atoms of two ligands, resulting in the formation of a 22-membered metallamacrocycle. In the dication, ?-? inter-actions are observed between the imidazole rings, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.528?(3)?Å and dihedral angles of 9.92?(9)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions involving the benzene rings of adjacent dications, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.651?(2)?Å.

Project description:Reaction of 5-sulfosalicylic acid with hydrazine hydrate at pH = 1 results in the formation of the title hydrated salt, 0.5N(2)H(6) (2+)·C(7)H(5)O(6)S(-)·2H(2)O. The hydrazinium dications lie on centres of inversion. They are located between 3-carb-oxy-4-hy-droxy-benzene-sulfonate anions, forming inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds with sulfonate ions and water mol-ecules of crystallisation. Further intra- and inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal structure.

Each centrosymmetric dicationic unit has a dinuclear structure in which two Ag(I) atoms are bridged by two 1,2-bis-(1H-imidazol-1-yl-meth-yl)benzene ligands in a slightly distorted linear coordination geometry. The 4-amino-2,5-dichloro-benzene-sulfonate anion does not coordinate with the Ag(I) center, acting only as a counteranion. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional network.

Project description:Crystals of the title salt, [Na(C6H14O3)2]2(C26H20), were grown from a tetra-hydro-furan/diglyme/Et2O solvent mixture [diglyme is 1-meth-oxy-2-(2-meth-oxy-eth-oxy)ethane]. The cations and dianion are separated in the crystal structure, unlike in the other three structurally characterized dialkali metal tetra-phenyl-ethyl-ene salts. The asymmetric unit contains one [Na(diglyme)2](+) cation and one half of the [Ph2CCPh2](2-) dianion. The latter lies on a twofold rotation axis. C-C bond-length redistribution displays that excessive electron density of the dianion is predominantly located at the C atoms of a former double bond and at all eight ortho positions. The studied crystal was a twin, with the ratio of two major components being 0.2143?(9):0.7857?(9). The twin operation is a twofold rotation around the a axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(2)Cl(3)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(4)], was prepared by the reaction of imidazole and trichloro-acetatocopper(II). The Cu(II) atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry, binding the N atoms of four imidazole ligands and the carboxyl-ate O atoms of two trichloro-acetate anions. The mol-ecular structure and packing are stabilized by N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. Close inter-molecular Cl?Cl contacts [3.498?(3)?Å] are also found in the structure.
