ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](CF(3)CO(2))·4H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination with four N atoms [Cu-N = 2.015?(3)-2.244?(3)?Å] from the two phenanthroline ligands and two O atoms from the acetate [Cu-O = 1.953?(3) and 2.764?(3)?Å]. Strong inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions consolidate the crystal packing. The F atoms of the anion are disordered over two positions in a 0.5233?(3):0.4767?(3) ratio.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The crystal packing also exhibits weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.734 (2) Å] and short inter-molecular Cl⋯Cl contacts [3.306 (2) and 3.278 (2) Å].

Project description:The two halves of the title compound, [Cu(C(2)H(2)BrO(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))], are related by twofold symmetry along the b axis through the central Cu(II) ion. The Cu(II) ion is coordinated by two symmetry-related N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and four O atoms from two 2-bromo-acetate ligands, showing a distorted octahedral geometry. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions link neighbouring mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(7)O(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](C(8)H(7)O(2))·6H(2)O, the Cu atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment. The six crystallographically independent uncoordinated water mol-ecules are inter-connected by hydrogen bonds, completing dodeca-water (H(2)O)(12) clusters which are hydrogen bonded to the carboxyl-ate groups of phenyl-acetate anions, building up one-dimensional anionic chains propagating along [100]. Between the cationic and anionic chains are hydrogen bonds from water mol-ecules to the carboxyl-ate O atoms belonging to the phenyl-acetato ligands.

O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between water mol-ecules and the complex mol-ecules result in the formation of a three-dimensional network. Four water mol-ecules act as single acceptors and double donors while the fifth water mol-ecule is involved as a single acceptor and single donor in an O-H⋯O inter-action and as a donor in an O-H⋯π inter-action.

Project description:The title complex, [Mn(2)(C(8)H(7)O(3))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·0.5CH(3)OH, is a carboxyl-ate-bridged dinuclear Mn(II) complex with four phenoxy-acetate ions and two 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecules as ligands. Each of the four phenoxy-acetate anions bridges the pair of Mn atoms. The asymmetric unit is completed by a half-occupancy methanol solvent mol-ecule. Face-to-face π-π stacking inter-actions between the aromatic rings of 1,10-phenanthroline molecules belonging to adjacent Mn(2) complexes, with an inter-planar separation of circa 3.4 Å, and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the dinuclear units into a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

Project description:The title complex, [Pr(2)(C(8)H(7)O(3))(6)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), which has an inversion centre midway between the two Pr(III) atoms of the structural unit, forms a one-dimensional polymer bridged alternately by either two bidentate, or two bidentate and two terdentate, phenoxy-acetate carboxyl-ate groups. Each Pr(III) atom is thus nine-coordinated by two N atoms of a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and seven O atoms from six phenoxy-acetate ligands. The coordination geometry at the Pr(III) atom is distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic. One phenyl ring is disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.6 and 0.4.
