ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(23)H(26)O, the adamantane cage consists of three fused cyclo-hexane rings in classical chair conformations with absolute values of the C-C-C angles in the range 106.57?(11)-111.56?(12)°. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 81.38?(4)°. Although a hy-droxy group is present as a conceivable donor, no hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the racemic crystal of the title compound, C(17)H(23)NO, enanti-omers of the two crystallographically independent mol-ecules are linked into face-to-face RSdimers via inter-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.7610 (2) Å. The mol-ecules adopt slightly different conformations and contain an adamantane cage consisting of three fused cyclo-hexane rings in almost ideal chair conformations, with C-C-C angles varying within the range 107.2 (4)-111.4 (4)°. In the hydrogen-bonded pair, the benzene rings are almost coplanar, the dihedral angle between them being 1.29 (13)°. The mol-ecular packing in the crystal is stabilized by additional inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal sructure of the title compound, C(17)H(21)NO, the mol-ecular packing is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and additional weak N-H⋯π inter-actions, forming chains that propagate along the b axis. Conjugation of the carbonyl group and the benzene ring is rather attenuated due to a twisting of the carbonyl group from the plane of the benzene ring [torsion angle = 27.1 (2)°].

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(23)H(33)N(2))[FeCl(4)], consists of 1,3-bis-(1-adamant-yl)imidazolium (BAIM) cations and tetra-hedral tetra-chloridoferrate(III) (TCF) anions. The BAIM cation possesses m symmetry, with the central imidazole ring and four C atoms of each terminal adamantyl group located on a mirror plane. The Fe and two Cl atoms of the TCF anion are also located on the mirror plane. The cyclo-hexane rings of the adamantyl groups adopt normal chair conformations.

Project description:A novel Schiff base compound, C(20)H(27)NO(2), was obtained by a condensation of rimantadine and 2-hy-droxy-4-meth-oxy-benzaldehyde. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond supports the phenol-imine tautomeric form. The adamantane and imino-methyl-4-meth-oxy-phenol units are arranged in a folded conformation [C-N-C-C torsion angle = 110.9 (3)°]. In the crystal, highly hydro-phobic adamantane moieties are inserted between the imino-methyl-4-meth-oxy-phenol units in a sandwich-like arrangement along the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Li(3)(C(4)F(9)O)(3)(C(3)H(6)O)(3)], features an open Li/O cube with an Li ion missing at one corner. Three of the four bridging O atoms of the cube carry a fluorinated tert-butyl residue, whereas the fourth is part of an acetone mol-ecule. Two of the Li atoms are further bonded to a non-bridging acetone mol-ecule. Two of the lithium ion coordination geometries are very distorted LiO(4) tetra-hedra; the third could be described as a very distorted LiO(3) T-shape with two distant F-atom neighbours. The Li?Li contact distances for the three-coordinate Li(+) ion [2.608?(14) and 2.631?(12)?Å] are much shorter that the contact distance [2.940?(13)?Å] between the tetra-hedrally coordinated species.

The short Ti-N bond distances, ranging from 1.877 (4) to 1.905 (4) Å, indicate strong bonding between the Ti(IV) atom and the dimethyl-amide ligands.
