ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Mn(C(36)H(50)N(2)O(2))(CH(3)COO)(H(2)O)]·CH(3)CH(2)OH, the Mn(III) atom is in an octa-hedral environment and is coordinated by the tetra-dentate amine-bis-(phenolate) ligand, a monodentate acetate anion and a water mol-ecule. An ethanol solvent mol-ecule is also found in the asymmetric unit. The structure displays O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(18)H(16)F(4)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) atom shows a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry with the N,N',O,O'-tetra-dentate piperazine-diphenolate ligand forming the basal plane. The apical site is occupied by the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule. Neighbouring complexes are associated through inter-molecular O-H⋯O and O-H⋯F hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecule and a phenolate O atom or an F atom from an adjacent ligand, respectively, forming a centrosymmetric dimer. Dimers are linked by additional inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, giving infinite chains propagating along the a axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(19)H(16)Cl(4)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)], comprises two crystallographically independent mol-ecules. The geometry around the Zn(II) atoms is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal, supported by the N(2)O(2) donor atoms of the tetradentate Schiff base and a coordinating water mol-ecule. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in the two mol-ecules are 34.10 (15) Å and 30.61 (15) Å. In the crystal, neighbouring independent mol-ecules are linked by pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with R(2) (2)(6) ring motifs, and by O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. There are short Cl⋯Cl [3.4728 (16), 3.4863 (16), and 3.388 (1) Å] contacts present, and mol-ecules are also linked by C-H⋯O and π-π [centroid-centroid distance = 3.671 (2) Å] inter-actions.

Two anionic phenolate O-atom donors and two neutral N-atom donors of the ligand are trans and cis, respectively. The Mo=O bond lengths and the O=Mo=O bond angle are typical for six-coordinated dioxomolyb-denum(VI) complexes. The Mo-N bond lengths are longer than 2.30 Å, as expected for a trans O=Mo-N structure.

Project description:The title mononuclear complex, [Zr(C(20)H(20)Cl(4)N(2)O(2))(2)], was obtained by allowing hexane to diffuse into a diethyl ether solution of zirconium(IV) sec-butoxide and the enanti-o-meri-cally pure tetra-dentate ligand N,N'-bis-(3,5-dichloro-2-hy-droxy-benz-yl)-trans-(R,R)-1,2-diamino-cyclo-hexane. The metal centre is eight-coordinate and displays a distorted dodeca-hedral coordination environment with average Zr-O and Zr-N bond lengths of 2.082 (9) and 2.441 (8) Å, respectively. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bond inter-actions into zigzag chains running parallel to the [101] direction. C-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:In the title complex, [Co(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(C(2)H(3)O(2))(H(2)O)]·2CH(3)OH, the Co(III) atom is hexa-coordinated by water and acetate groups in the axial positions and by the tetra-dentate Schiff base occupying equatorial positions. These axial bonds are longer than the equatorial bonds to the tetra-dentate Schiff base. Two mol-ecules form a dimer through strong hydrogen bonds from the coordinated water of one mol-ecule to the meth-oxy O atoms of an adjoining mol-ecule. There is extensive intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the coordinated water and acetate ligands and the methanol solvent mol-ecules. In addition, there are weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions, which link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional array.

There are two intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the two hydr-oxy groups, which generate S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal structure, the Schiff base mol-ecules are linked into a chain along the a axis by C-H?? inter-actions. The acetone solvent mol-ecules are attached to the chain via C-H?O hydrogen bonds.
