ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ir(C(8)H(12))(C(7)H(12)N(2))(C(18)H(15)P)]BF(4)·CH(2)Cl(2), the Ir(I) atom has a square-planar conformation with normal bond lengths. One of the phenyl rings, and the solvent dichloro-methane mol-ecule, were refined using separate two part disorder models, each in an approximately 1:1 ratio.

Project description:In the title compound, [Rh(C(8)H(12))(C(7)H(12)N(2))(2)]BF(4), the square-planar Rh complex cation and the BF(4) (-) anion are both bis-ected by a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. The Rh and B atoms lie on this axis and all others are in general positions. In the crystal, two unique C-H?F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are present, which involve both imidazolin-2-yl-idene H atoms. They form two separate C(5) motifs, the combination of which is a rippled hydrogen-bonded sheet structure in the ab plane.

As a result of the different trans influences of the Cl atom and the cyclo-hexyl group, the Pt-C bonds trans to the cyclo-hexyl group are longer than those trans to the Cl atom.

Project description:The Os(II) atom in the title compound, [OsCl(2)(C(8)H(12))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)], is located on a crystallographic twofold axis and adopts a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The two triphenyl-phosphine ligands are trans to each other, while the two chlorine ligands are cis-disposed. The coordination is completed by the cyclo-octa-diene (COD) ligand with bonding to the two olefin double bonds. The C=C bond has a length of 1.403?(6)?Å, which is significntly longer than a free olefinic double bond (?1.34?Å).

Project description:In the complex cation of the binuclear solvated title salt, [Pt2F(SbF6)2(C8H12)2]SbF6·0.75HF, an F atom bridges the two platinum(II) atoms with a bond angle of 123.3 (2)°. The corresponding Pt-F bond lengths are in the range of other fluorine-bridged binuclear platinum(II) complexes. Two of the three SbF6 (-) anions each coordinate with one F atom to one platinum(II) atom. Including the η(4)-bound cyclo-octa-diene (COD) ligands, the overall coordination sphere of each platinum(II) atom is square-planar. The third SbF6 (-) anion is not bound to the complex. Hydrogen fluoride is present in the crystal structure as a solvent disordered over three positions, each with an occupancy of 0.25. F⋯F distances of 2.5512 (7), 2.6076 (8) and 3.2215 (10) Å to surrounding SbF6 (-) anions are indicative of F-H⋯F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions although no H atoms could be localized for the disordered solvent mol-ecules. The resulting hydrogen-bonded network is three-dimensional.

Project description:The title complex, [Ag(C(18)H(15)P)(4)]BF(4), was prepared by the reaction of silver(I) tetra-fluorido-borate and triphenyl-phosphane in the presence of 1,2-bis-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl-ene. The Ag(I) atom is tetra-hedrally coordinated by four P atoms from triphenyl-phosphane (PPh(3)) ligands. Due to symmetry, the tetra-fluorido-borate anion is disordered over three positions (each with one third occupancy). The tetra-fluorido-borate anion does not coordinate to the Ag(I) atom.

Project description:The title complex, [IrCl(C8H12)2], was synthesized directly from the reaction of IrCl3·3H2O with a large excess of cod (cod = cyclo-octa-1,5-diene) in alcoholic solvent. Large yellow needles were obtained by the slow cooling of a hot solution. Based on the positions of the chloride ligand and the mid-points of the four C=C bonds, the mol-ecule adopts a five-coordinate geometry that is midway between square pyramidal and trigonal bipyramidal. The material crystallizes in the ortho-rhom-bic space group Pbca with one mol-ecule per asymmetric unit in a general position and shows no significant inter-molecular inter-actions. Individual mol-ecules are aligned along [010], and these rows form a pseudo-hexa-gonal packing arrangement.

Together the ligands create a slightly distorted square-planar cordination environment for the Rh(I) atom. There are three mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit and intra-molecular P-Rh-P bite angles of 82.78?(5), 82.97?(6) and 83.09?(5)° are observed. The dihedral angles between the P-Rh-P and the X-Rh-X planes (X is the centroid of a double bond) are 14.7?(1), 14.8?(1) and 15.3?(1)°. The structure exhibits disorder of one cyclo-octa-diene ligand as well as one BF(4) anion.

The two Cu atoms are bridged by the centrosymmetric pyridine-2-carbaldehyde azine ligand. The F atoms of the tetra-fluorido-borate anion are disordered over two sites [occupancy factors = 0.68?(5) and 0.32?(5)]. The dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule is disordered over four sites, with occupancy factors of 0.513?(4), 0.173?(5), 0.141?(5) and 0.173?(5).
