ABSTRACT: The cation and anion of the title salt, C(14)H(18)N(3)S(2) (+)·ClO(4) (-), lie on a twofold rotation axis. The cation is a W-shaped entity with the aromatic rings at the ends; the ammonium NH(2) (+) group is a hydrogen-bond donor to the pyridyl N atoms. The perchlorate ion has one O atom disordered over two sites in a 0.50:0.50 ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C(8)H(9)N(2) (+)·2ClO(4) (-)·H(2)O, consists of two (4-cyano-benz-yl)>ammonium cations, two disordered ClO(4) (-) anions and one water mol-ecule. The differences in the two cations are reflected in the N-C-C-C torsion angles [-94.7 (3) and -115.9 (3)°]. In addition, the cations show different hydrogen-bonding patterns as one N atom bonds to two O atoms of ClO(4) (-) ions, while the other N atom is involved in hydrogen bonding with the O atoms of the ClO(4) (-) ions and water mol-ecules. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds result in a three-dimensional network. An O atom in each of the anions is disordered over two positions of equal occupancy.

Project description:In the macrocyclic centrosymmetric dinuclear complex, [Ag(2)(C(19)H(14)N(6)S(2))(2)](ClO(4))(2), the Ag(I) atom, bis-{[4-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrimidin-2-yl]sulfan-yl}methane (2-bppt) ligand and perchlorate anion each lie on a twofold rotation axis. The 2-bppt ligand chelates two four-coordinated Ag(I) atoms through its two bipyridine-like arms. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion are disordered each over two positions of equal occupancy. Adjacent complex mol-ecules are linked by ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine and pyrimidine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.663?(8)?Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C4H12NO2 (+)·C6H2N3O7 (-), contain two bis-(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)ammonium cations and two picrate anions. An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond occurs in each cation. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which generate two R 2 (1)(6), an R 2 (2)(10) and an R 2 (2)(13) graph-set ring motifs. There are also a number of C-H?O hydrogen bonds present. The sum of these inter-actions leads to the formation a three-dimensional structure.
