ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(9)H(14)N(2)O, exists in the zwitterionic form in the crystal. The cyclo-octane ring adopts a twisted boat-chair conformation. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into sheets lying parallel to bc. The structure is also stabilized by ?-? inter-actions, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.5684?(8)?Å.

Pairs of inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds form inversion dimers between neighbouring pyrazolone mol-ecules, generating R(2) (2)(8) ring motifs. The pyrazolone and water mol-ecules are further linked by inter-molecular N-H?O, C-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds into two-dimensional sheets parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The organic mol-ecule in the title monohydrate, C(6)N(6)O(5)·H(2)O, presents an almost planar configuration, the greatest deviation from the least-squares plane through the atoms being 0.061 (1) Å for the O atom within the seven-membered ring. Each water H atom is bifurcated, one forming two O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and the other forming O-H⋯N,O hydrogen bonds. The result of the hydrogen bonding is the formation of supra-molecular layers with a zigzag topology that stack along [001].

Project description:The title complex, [Ta(?(4)-C8H8)(?(8)-C8H8)I], lies across a crystallographic mirror plane that includes the Ta(V) atom and the iodide ligand. One cyclo-octa-tetra-ene (cot) ring is ?(4)-coordinating and is bis-ected by the mirror plane. The fold angle between the plane of the coordinating butadiene portion and the middle plane of the ring is 27.4?(4)°. An additional minor fold angle of 9.3?(7)° exists between the final plane in the ring and the middle plane. The other cot?ring is ?(8)-coordinating and is also cut by the mirror plane. In this case, the ring is disordered over the mirror plane, and one position is modeled with appropriate restraints and constraints with respect to distances, angles and displacement parameters (the second position is generated by symmetry). This ring is nearly planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of only 0.05?Å when all eight C atoms are included in the calculation. Pairs of inter-molecular ?(8)-cot?rings are parallel stacked and slightly off center, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.652?Å. No other significant inter-molecular inter-actions are observed. The compound is of inter-est as the first structurally characterized mixed halogen-cot?complex of the group 5 metals and contains the longest terminal Ta-I distance [3.0107?(5)?Å] reported to date.

Project description:The title salt, C9H8FN2 (+)·C2F3O2 (-), crystallizes with two independent cations (A and B) and two independent anions (C and D) in the asymmetric unit. In the cations, the dihedral angles between the benzene and pyrazolium rings are 23.7?(3)° in cation A and 1.8?(8)° in cation B. In the crystal, each anion links to the two cations via N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a U-shaped unit with an R 4 (4)(14) ring motif. These U-shaped units stack along the a axis and are linked via C-H?O and C-H?F hydrogen bonds, forming slabs lying parallel to (100). Within the slabs there are ?-? inter-actions between the pyrazolium rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.6326?(15)?Å] and between the benzene rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.7244?(16)?Å]. In the anions, the F atoms of the tri-fluoro-methyl groups are disordered over two sets of sites, with refined occupancy ratios of 0.58?(3):0.42, 0.540?(14):0.46?(14), and 0.55?(2):0.45?(2) for anion C, and 0.73?(5):0.27?(5), 0.63?(5):0.37?(5), and 0.57?(8):0.43?(8) for anion D.

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, K(2)Al(2)P(8)O(24), were obtained by solid-state reaction. The monoclinic structure is isotypic with that of the Ga(III) analogue and is built of eight-membered phosphate ring anions P(8)O(24) (8-) (2/m symmetry) isolated from each other and further linked by isolated AlO(6) octa-hedra ( symmetry) by sharing corners. Each AlO(6) octa-hedron is linked to four P(8)O(24) (8-) rings in such a way that two rings are linked through bidentate diphosphate groups attached in the cis positions on two opposite parallel edges of the octa-hedron. The two other rings are linked via corner-sharing to the two remaining corners in the trans positions of the AlO(6) octa-hedron. Each P(8)O(24) (8-) ring anion is linked to eight AlO(6) octa-hedra. More accurately, each ring anion is linked to four AlO(6) octa-hedra through bidentate diphosphate groups attached in the cis positions to the AlO(6) octa-hedron and to the four remaining octa-hedra by sharing corners. This three-dimensional linkage delimits channels running parallel to [001] in which the ten-coordinated K(+) cations (2 symmetry) are distributed over two columns. These columns alternate with empty octa-gonally-shaped channels expanding through the P(8)O(24) (8-) ring anions.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds, generating R(2) (2)(8) ring motifs, and are further linked via inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?S hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network. The short inter-molecular distance between the oxadiazol-3-ium rings [3.4154?(4)?Å] indicates the existence of a ?-? inter-action.

The observed Pt-I bond distances of 2.6094?(5) and 2.6130?(5)?Å are in the expected range for PtI(2) complexes. The C=C double bonds in the mol-ecule differ significantly [1.373?(10) and 1.403?(10)?Å]. As expected for a platinum(II) complex, the Pt(II) atom is in a square-planar environment (?Pt(?)= 359.71°).
