ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(C(24)H(16)N(6))(2)](NCS)(2)·2H(2)O, the central Ni(II) ion is octahedrally coordinated by six N atoms of two tridentate 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridyl-pyrazine ligands (tppz). Two thio-cyanate anions act as counter-ions and two water mol-ecules act as solvation agents. O-H?N hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystral structure.

Project description:The title compound [Ni(2)(C(6)H(6)O(6)P(2))(2)(C(24)H(16)N(6))(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O or [Ni(2)(tpyprz)(1,3-HO(3)PC(6)H(4)PO(3)H)(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O [tpyprz = tetra-kis-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrazine, C(24)H(16)N(6)] is a binuclear complex with a crystallographic inversion center located at the center of the pyrazine ring. The equivalent nickel(II) sites exhibit a distorted {NiO(3)N(3)} octa-hedral coordination, with the three nitro-gen donors of each terminus of the tpyprz ligand in a meridional orientation. An aqua ligand occupies the position trans to the pyrazine nitro-gen donor, while the second aqua ligand is trans to the oxygen donor of the dihydrogen-1,3-phenyl-diphospho-nate ligand. The Ni-O and Ni-N bond lengths fall in the range 2.011?(3) to 2.089?(3)?Å. The protonation sites on the organo-phospho-nate ligand are evident in the significantly longer P-O bonds compared to the unprotonated sites. In the crystal structure, the complex mol-ecules and the solvent water mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded framework through O-H?O inter-actions between the aqua ligands, the protonated organo-phospho-nate oxygen atoms and the water mol-ecules of crystallization. Intra-molecular ?-stacking between the phenyl group of the phospho-nate ligand and a pyridyl group of the tpyprz ligand, at a distance of 3.244?(5)?Å between ring centroids, is also observed.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [MnI(C(24)H(16)N(6))(H(2)O)(2)]I·H(2)O, consists of a cationic Mn(II) complex, an I(-) anion and a solvent water mol-ecule. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated in a considerably distorted octa-hedral environment defined by three N atoms of the tridentate 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridyl-pyrazine (tppz) ligand, one I(-) anion and two O atoms of two water ligands. The dihedral angles between the pyridyl rings [maximum deviation = 0.034?(6)?Å] and their carrier pyrazine ring [maximum deviation = 0.020?(6)?Å] are 26.5?(2) and 27.0?(2)° for the coordinated pyridyl rings, and 51.3?(3) and 43.2?(2)° for the uncoordinated pyridyl rings. Inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and O-H?I hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:Reaction of the ligand 2,2',2'',2'''-{[pyrazine-2,3,5,6-tetra-yltetra-kis-(methyl-ene)]tetra-kis-(sulfanedi-yl)}tetra-acetic acid (H4L1), with NiCl2 leads to the formation of a binuclear complex, (μ-2,2',2'',2'''-{[pyrazine-2,3,5,6-tetra-yltetra-kis-(methyl-ene)]tetra-kis-(sulfanedi-yl)}tetra-acetato-κ5 O,S,N 1,S',O':κ5 O'',S'',N 4,S''',O''')bis[aqua-nickel(II)] hepta-hydrate, {[Ni2(C16H16N2O8S4)(H2O)2]·7H2O} (I). It crystallizes with two half mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The complete mol-ecules are generated by inversion symmetry, with the center of the pyrazine rings being located at crystallographic centres of inversion. The ligand coordinates two NiII ions in a bis-penta-dentate manner and the sixfold coordination sphere of each nickel(II) atom (NiS2O3N) is completed by a water mol-ecule. The complex crystallized as a hepta-hydrate. The binuclear complexes are linked by Owater-H⋯Ocarbon-yl hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the (101) plane. This layered structure is additionally stabilized by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Further O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving binuclear complexes and solvent water mol-ecules, together with weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, link the layers to form a supra-molecular framework.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ni(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(8)H(5)O(3))(2)·2H(2)O, contains one-half of the complex cation with the Ni(II) atom located on an inversion center, a 4-formyl-benzoate (FB) counter-anion and an uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni atom form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement and the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the isonicotinamide (INA) ligands at a sligthly longer distance in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 8.14 (11)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 3.46 (6)°. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π Contacts between the benzene and pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.751 (1) Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title dinuclear ionic complex, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(H(2)O)(8)][Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)(C(4)H(4)N(2))], the cation and anion are disordered equally over a site with symmetry mmm. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H⋯O inter-actions.
