ABSTRACT: Reaction of nickel(II) chloride with sodium cyanate and 2,6-di-methyl-pyrazine leads to single crystals of the title com-pound, [Ni(NCO)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(4)]. The nickel(II) cation is located about a centre of inversion and is octa-hedrally coordinated by two cyanate anions and four 2,6-dimethyl-pyrazine ligands, forming discrete complexes.

Project description:The reaction of nickel(II) thio-cyanate with an excess of pyridazine leads to single crystals of the title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(4)]·2C(4)H(4)N(2). The Ni(II) cations are coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions (trans) and four pyridazine ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The discrete complexes are arranged into layers parallel to the ab plane which are separated by additional non-coordinated pyridazine ligands.

Project description:The reaction of nickel(II) nitrate with potassium seleno-cyanate and pyridazine leads to crystals of the title compound, [Ni(NCSe)(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(4)]·2C(4)H(4)N(2). The Ni(II) atom is coordinated by two terminal N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions and four pyridazine ligands within a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal structure contains two crystallographically independent pyridazine molecules in cavities of the structure, which are not coordinated to the metal centres. The structure is pseudo-C-centered due to the positioning of the discrete coordination complexes; the non-coordinating pyridazine molecules, however, break the C-centering. In the subcell, these ligands are disordered around centres of inversion, which do not coincide with the mid-point of the mol-ecules.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(4)], consists of isolated mol-ecules of [Ni(NCS)(2)(Aim)(4)] (Aim = 1-allyl-imidazole), which contain a distorted octa-hedral NiN(6) chromophore. The NCS(-) anions are trans and four N atoms from the 1-allyl-imidazole ligands define the equatorial plane. The mean Mn-N(Aim) and Mn-N(NCS) distances are 2.105 (2) and 2.098 (2) Å, respectively. Weak C-H⋯N inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C7H11N2)2[Mn(NCS)4(C7H10N2)2], the manganese(II) cations are coordinated by four N-bonded thio-cyanate anions and two N-bonded 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridine ligands into discrete complex dianions. For charge balance, two 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine counter cations are present, which do not coordinate to the metal cation. The asymmetric unit consists of one manganese(II) cation, four thio-cyanate anions and two 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridine ligands, as well as two protonated 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridinium cations. The discrete complex anions are connected to the non-coordinating pyridinium cations by weak N-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:Reaction of the ligand 2,2',2'',2'''-{[pyrazine-2,3,5,6-tetra-yltetra-kis-(methyl-ene)]tetra-kis-(sulfanedi-yl)}tetra-acetic acid (H4L1), with NiCl2 leads to the formation of a binuclear complex, (μ-2,2',2'',2'''-{[pyrazine-2,3,5,6-tetra-yltetra-kis-(methyl-ene)]tetra-kis-(sulfanedi-yl)}tetra-acetato-κ5 O,S,N 1,S',O':κ5 O'',S'',N 4,S''',O''')bis[aqua-nickel(II)] hepta-hydrate, {[Ni2(C16H16N2O8S4)(H2O)2]·7H2O} (I). It crystallizes with two half mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The complete mol-ecules are generated by inversion symmetry, with the center of the pyrazine rings being located at crystallographic centres of inversion. The ligand coordinates two NiII ions in a bis-penta-dentate manner and the sixfold coordination sphere of each nickel(II) atom (NiS2O3N) is completed by a water mol-ecule. The complex crystallized as a hepta-hydrate. The binuclear complexes are linked by Owater-H⋯Ocarbon-yl hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the (101) plane. This layered structure is additionally stabilized by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Further O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving binuclear complexes and solvent water mol-ecules, together with weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, link the layers to form a supra-molecular framework.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C(7)H(10)N)(2)[ZnBr(4)], the coordination geometry of the anion is approximately tetra-hedral and a twofold rotation axis passes through the Zn atom. The Zn-Br bond lengths range from 2.400 (2) to 2.408 (3) Å and the Br-Zn-Br angles range from 108.14 (6) to 115.15 (15)°. In the crystal structure, the [ZnBr(4)](2-) anion is connected to two cations through N-H⋯Br and H(2)C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional cation-anion-cation layers normal to the b axis. No significant Br⋯Br inter-actions [the shortest being 4.423 (4) Å] are observed in the structure.

Project description:The title compound, (C(2)H(8)N)(4)[Cu(C(6)H(2)N(10))(2)Cl(2)], consists of an anionic complex which is composed of a Cu(II) ion surrounded by four N atoms from two pyrazine-2,3-diylbis(1H-tetra-zol-1-ide) ligands, and two Cl(-) atoms in a trans-Cl(2)N(4) coordination geometry; the Cu(II) atom lies on a site of symmetry 2/m. The Cu-Cl distance of 2.8719?(5)?Å is long due to the Jahn-Teller distortion of the d(9) electron configuration of Cu(II) ion. The tetra-zole and pyrazine rings make an N-C-C-N torsion angle of 38.25?(17)°. The charge of the anionic complex is balanced by four dimethyl-ammonium cations, which inter-act with the anionic complexes via N-H?N and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds.

In the crystal, C-H?S hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules into chains parallel to the b axis. The chains are further connected by C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane.
