ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(12)H(20)N(3) (+)·Cl(-), the protonated (1R,2R)-(pyridin-4-ylmeth-yl)cyclo-hexane-1,2-diamine cations and chloride anions are linked via N-H⋯N and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [HgCl(2)(C(12)H(19)N(3))], the Hg(II) ion is coordinated by three N atoms of the (1R,2R)-N-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)cyclo-hexane-1,2-diamine ligand and by a Cl atom in the basal plane, and by a second Cl atom in the apical position, within a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The coordination of the enanti-opure ligand to the metal atom renders the central N atom chiral with an S configuration, so the complex is enanti-omerically pure and corresponds to the S,R,R diastereoisomer. Mol-ecules are linked via weak N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds into a one-dimensional hydrogen-bonding supramolecular chain along the crystallographic b axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(18)N(2)O(2), contains two geometrically different mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit: the basal plane of the cyclo-hexane chair and the N-[pyridin-3-yl-methyl-idene]methanamine moiety are oriented at dihedral angles of 71.77 (7)° and 83.42 (8)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, generating C(13) head-to-tail chains extending along the base vector [103]. R(2) (2)(26) ring motifs are formed due to the C-H⋯·O inter-actions that link neighbouring chains. There also exist π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation = 3.6925 (12) Å] between the symmetry-related pyridine rings of one of the independent mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title salt, C(12)H(24)N(+)·Cl(-), both cyclo-hexyl rings adopt chair conformations and the NH(2) unit is situated in the equatorial position with respect to the rings in the cation. The large C-N-C bond angle [117.99 (14)°] in the cation is a result of linking two bulky cyclo-hexyl rings to the N atom. The aminium H atoms are involved in inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming an infinite zigzag chain parallel to the c axis. The crystal studied was a racemic twin with a twin fraction of 0.28 (18).
