ABSTRACT: In the crystal of the title compound, C(8)H(8)ClN(3)S, mol-ecules are connected by N-H?S hydrogen bonds into strips parallel to the (112) planes and running along [10]. One of the amino H atoms is not involved in a classical hydrogen bond. In addition, there is a rather short inter-molecular Cl?S distance of 3.3814?(5)?Å.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(16)H(11)F(3)N(4)O(2)S, is stabilized in the form of polymeric chains by N-H⋯O inter-actions. In the mol-ecular structure, two S(5) ring motifs are formed by intra-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and two S(6) rings are present due to N-H⋯O and C-H⋯S inter-actions. π-π inter-actions are present with distances of 3.2735 (17), 3.563 (2) and 3.664 (4)/3.688 (3) Å between the centroids of the heterocyclic rings, between the centroids of the heterocyclic ring and trifluoro-meth-oxy-substituted phenyl ring, and between the centroids of the trifluoro-meth-oxy-substituted phenyl rings, respectively. In the crystal, C-H⋯π inter-actions [C-H⋯centroid distances = 3.443 (3) and 3.788 (3) Å] and N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds form layers parallel to (100). An intra-molecular N-H⋯I hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C12H9ClN2OS, a Schiff base derived from hydrazide, in which the dihedral angles between the thio-phene and benzene rings are 3.6?(3) and 7.3?(3)°. In the crystal, the two independent mol-ecules are arranged about an approximate non-crystallographic inversion center and are connected by two N-H?O hydrogen bonds.
