Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear title complex, [Pb(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O, each Pb atom is eight-coordinated in a PbO(6)N(2) environment by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, five carboxylate O atoms from four 3-hydroxy-benzoate anions and one O atom from the coordinated water mol-ecule in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The benzoate groups coordinate each Pb(II) atom in two different ways. Two benzoate ions behave as bidentate ligands to the Pb atom, and another benzoate ion bridges the Pb atoms, forming a binuclear structure. The dimeric units are packed via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions between the aromatic rings of neighboring mol-ecules, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.552 (2) and 3.641 (2) Å.

Project description:In the title complex, [Pb(NO(3))(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))(2)], the lead ion is chelated by two 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmphen) ligands and two nitrate anions in a slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry. Intra- and inter-molecular π-π stacking is present in the crystal structure, and the centroid-centroid distances between the benzene and pyridine rings of adjacent dmphen ligands are 3.492 (3) and 3.592 (3) Å, respectively. Inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))], the Co(II) ion is five-coordinated by two N atoms from one 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmphen) ligand and three O atoms from two 2-hydroxy-benzoate anions in a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry. The carboxyl-ate group of one of the two 2-hydroxy-benzoate anions is monodentate with a normal Co-O distance [1.9804 (18) Å], while the other is bidentate with two longer Co-O bonds [2.1981 (18) and 2.1359 (19) Å]. The crystal structure is stabilized by aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 4.0380 (3) and 3.8216 (3) Å between dmphen/dmphen and benzene/dmphen rings, respectively] and C-H⋯π(benzene) inter-actions.

Project description:The dinuclear title compound, [Cd(2)(C(7)H(5)O(3))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], is located on a crystallographic rotation twofold axis. The two Cd(II) ions are connected by two tridentate bridging 2-hydroxy-benzoate anions. Each Cd(II) ion is seven-coordinated by five O atoms from three 2-hydroxy-benzoate ligands and two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline. The 2-hydroxy-benzoate mol-ecules adopt two kinds of coordination mode, bidentate chelating and tridentate bridging-chelating. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds between hydr-oxy and carboxyl-ate groups from 2-hydroxy-benzoate groups and π-π stacking interactions between parallel 1,10-phenanthroline ligands [centroid-centroid distances = 3.707 (3) and 3.842 (3) Å] are observed. Furthermore, adjacent benzene rings from 2-hydroxy-benzoate ligands are involved in π-π inter-actions with inter-planar distances of 3.642 (3) Å, thereby forming a chain along the a axis direction.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C(7)H(5)O(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)](C(7)H(5)O(3))·5H(2)O, consists of Co(II) complex cations, uncoordinated hydroxy-benzoate anions and uncoord-inated water mol-ecules. The Co(II) ion is coordinated by two phenanthroline ligands, a water mol-ecule and a 3-hydroxy-benzoate anion, and displays a distorted octa-hedral geometry. π-π stacking is observed between parallel phenanthroline ligands, the face-to-face separations being 3.454 (19) and 3.435 (7) Å. An extensive hydrogen-bonding network helps to stabilize the crystal structure. The hydroxybenzoate ligand is disordered over two positions, with site occupancy factors 0.6 and 0.4. One solvent water molecule is also disordered over two positions, with site occupancy factors 0.6 and 0.4.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(5)O(5))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Zn atom is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. The mol-ecule lies across a twofold rotation axis, around which two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands are arranged. There are short contacts between the 1,10-phenanthroline groups and the O atoms of the croconate ligand, which probably stabilize the crystal structure via weak C-H⋯O interactions.

Project description:The title complex, [Mn(C(5)O(5))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], lies across a crystallographic twofold axis which passes through the Mn atom and bisects the croconate ligand. The two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands are arranged in a propeller manner and the local mol-ecular geometry of the MnN(4)O(2) unit is severely distorted octa-hedral. This may be inter-preted as a structural perturbation of the MnN(4) square by the croconate ligand. In the crystal structure, the dipole moments of the mol-ecules are arranged alternately along the +b and -b directions. All the phen ligands are involved in π stacking inter-actions, alternately along the [110] and [10] directions. The alternate spacings between the neighbouring phen planes in the one-dimensional π stacks are 3.361 (2) and 3.526 (2) Å.
