ABSTRACT: In the title mol-ecule, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(18)H(17)Si)], the distances of the Fe atom from the centroids of the unsubstituted and substituted cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings are 1.651?(1) and 1.646?(1)?Å, respectively. The dihedral angle between the two Cp rings is 3.20?(17)°. The crystal packing is mainly stabilized by van der Waals forces.

Project description:The title compound, C(34)H(28)Si, was prepared as an inter-nal standard for diffusion-ordered NMR spectroscopy. The four ligands are arranged tetra-hedrally around the Si atom. The two naphthalene systems are nearly perpendicular, making an angle of 86.42?(4)° with one another. A naphthalene system and a phenyl ring are also nearly perpendicular, making an angle of 86.18?(6)° with one another. In the crystal, the mol-ecules pack in columns parallel to the a axis, and exhibit arene C-H??(arene) inter-actions both within and between columns.

Project description:2-(Diphenyl-thio-phosphino)dimethyl-amino-methyl-ferrocene is a key inter-mediate in the synthesis of various ferrocenyl ligands. During one such synthesis, the title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(20)H(22)NPS)](C(12)H(10)PS(2)), was isolated as a by-product. It is built up by association of (2-(diphenyl-phosphino)ferrocen-yl)meth-yl)dimethyl-ammonium cations and diphenyl-phosphino dithio-ate anions. N-H?S, C-H?S and C-H?? inter-actions link the anions and cations. Each anion-cation pair is linked two by two through C-H?? inter-actions, forming pseudo dimers.

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C21H24NPS)]I·CHCl3, is built up from a (ferrocenylmeth-yl)trimethyl-ammonium cation, a iodine anion and a chloro-form solvent mol-ecule, all residing in general positions. The N atom of the ammonium group is displaced by 1.182?(2)?Å from the plane of the substituted cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) ring towards the Fe atom, whereas the C atom attached to the same Cp ring is slightly below this plane by -0.128?(2)?Å. These deviations might result from weak agostic interactions between the two H atoms of the CH2 group and the Fe atom.

Project description:In the title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(17)H(15)N(2)S)], the cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings are almost parallel and essentially eclipsed, with a dihedral angle between the Cp ring planes of 0.807?(11)°. The Fe atom is slightly closer to the substituted cyclo-penta-dienyl ring, with an Fe-centroid distance of 1.6510?(8)?Å, compared with 1.6597?(8)?Å for the unsubstituted ring. The bridging unit between the substituted Cp ring and the naphthyl ring system is planar within 0.0174?Å and makes dihedral angles of 59.032?(10) and 66.02?(2)°, respectively, with these two rings. The angle between the substituted Cp ring and the naphthyl ring system is 72.094?(18)°. The H atoms of the NH groups of the thio-urea moiety are positioned anti with respect to each other. In the crystal, mol-ecules form centrosymmetric dimers via pairs of N-H?S hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C20H29NSi(+)·Br(-), contains a chiral silicon atom but crystallizes as a racemate. The C-Si-C bond angles in the range of 103.64 (8)-111.59 (9)° are usual for tetra-hedral geometry. The piperidine ring shows a regular chair conformation with an equatorially positioned exocyclic N-C bond. In the crystal, there is a hydrogen bond between the ammonium cation and the bromide anion. The crystal packing shows the dominant inter-molecular inter-action to be the electrostatic attraction between the ammonium cation and the bromide anion.

Project description:Following our continuing inter-est in developing new chiral phosphine-containing ferrocenyl ligands, we synthesized the title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(26)H(24)OPS)], in which there are two nearly identical mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The conformation of the cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings in each ferrocenyl group are inter-mediate between eclipsed and staggered, with twist angles of 16.6?(2) and 8.9?(2)°. The protecting S atom is located endo with respect to the substituted Cp ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected through inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions.
