The C-O bond lengths for the carbonyl groups are 1.191?(2) and 1.198?(2)?Å, while the C-O bond in the ester group is 1.335?(2)?Å. The C-C bond lengths in the phenyl groups average 1.375?Å, while the C-C bonds in the cyclo-penta-none ring average 1.525?Å, indicating single C-C bonds in the latter.

In the crystal, N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the zwitterions [with the water molecule involved as both acceptor (with the NH3 (+)) and donor (through a single carboxylate O from two different aminocyclobutane carb-oxylate moities)], resulting in a two-dimensional layered structure lying parallel to (100).

Project description:In the title salt, C(5)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(10)H(9)O(2) (-), 2-amino-pyridine and 1-phenyl-cyclo-propane-1-carb-oxy-lic acid crystallize together, forming a 2-amino-pyridinium-carboxyl-ate supra-molecular heterosynthon involving two N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which in turn dimerizes to form a four-component supra-molecular unit also sustained by N-H?O hydrogen bonding. A C-H?? inter-action between a pyridine C-H group and the centroid of the phenyl ring of the anion further stabilizes the four-component supra-molecular unit. The overall crystal packing also features C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In the structure of the title salt, 2C(7)H(10)N(+)·C(8)H(2)Cl(2)O(4) (2-)·H(2)O, the two benzyl-aminium anions have different conformations, one being essentially planar and the other having the side chain rotated out of the benzene plane [minimum ring to side-chain C-C-C-N torsion angles = -3.6?(6) and 50.1?(5)°, respectively]. In the 4,5-dichloro-phthalate dianion, the carboxyl-ate groups make dihedral angles of 23.0?(2) and 76.5?(2)° with the benzene ring. In the crystal, aminium N-H?O and water O-H?O hydrogen-bonding associations with carboxyl-ate O-atom acceptors give a two-dimensional duplex sheet structure which extends along the (011) plane. Weak ?-? inter-actions are also present between the benzene ring of the dianion and one of the cation rings [minimum ring centroid separation = 2.749?(3)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C34H28O4, the cyclo-hexa-diene ring has a screw-boat conformation with a torsion angle between the double bonds being on average ca 15° [15.2 (3) and -15.3 (3) in the two independent mol-ecules]. All four phenyl rings in both mol-ecules are arranged in a propeller-like conformation. The two mol-ecules exhibit S,R- and R,S- chirality, respectively, and are connected via C-H⋯O inter-molecular inter-actions. In turn, these weakly bound dimers form the mol-ecular crystal.

Project description:The title compound, C12H21NO7, (I), is conformationally unstable; the predominant form present in its solution is the β-pyran-ose form (74.3%), followed by the β- and α-furan-oses (12.1 and 10.2%, respectively), α-pyran-ose (3.4%), and traces of the acyclic carbohydrate tautomer. In the crystalline state, the carbohydrate part of (I) adopts the 2 C 5 β-pyran-ose conformation, and the amino acid portion exists as a zwitterion, with the side chain cyclo-pentane ring assuming the E 9 envelope conformation. All heteroatoms are involved in hydrogen bonding that forms a system of anti-parallel infinite chains of fused R 3 3(6) and R 3 3(8) rings. The mol-ecule features extensive intra-molecular hydrogen bonding, which is uniquely multicentered and involves the carboxyl-ate, ammonium and carbohydrate hy-droxy groups. In contrast, the contribution of inter-molecular O⋯H/H⋯O contacts to the Hirshfeld surface is relatively low (38.4%), as compared to structures of other d-fructose-amino acids. The 1H NMR data suggest a slow rotation around the C1-C2 bond in (I), indicating that the intra-molecular heteroatom contacts survive in aqueous solution of the mol-ecule as well.
