Dibromidobis(pyridine-3-carbonitrile-?N)mercury(II).

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [HgBr(2)(C(6)H(4)N(2))(2)], the Hg atom is four coordinated by two pyridine N atoms and two Br(-) anions in a considerably distorted tetrahedral environment. ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance of 3.648?(3)?Å] stabilize the crystal structure.
