ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Hg5Br10(C7H8N2O)2] n , contains two ?3-bridging Br atoms, six ?2-bridging Br atoms and two terminal Br atoms. One Hg(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, adopts a distorted octa-hedral geometry defined by six Br atoms. Two Hg(II) atoms adopt a distorted square-pyramidal geometry by five Br atoms and the other two Hg(II) atoms have a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two N atoms from a chelating O-methyl pyridine-2-carboximidate ligand and two Br atoms. The Br atoms link the Hg(II) atoms into a ribbon structure along [100].

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [HgBr(2)(C(5)H(5)N(3)O)(2)](n), the Hg(II) cation is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two N atoms from the pyrazine rings and four bridging Br(-) anions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Br(-) anions bridge the Hg(II) cations with significantly different Hg-Br bond distances of 2.4775 (8) and 3.1122 (8) Å, forming polymeric chains running along the a axis. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds are effective in the stabilization of the crystal structure.

Project description:The title complex, [LiBr(C3H6N2)] n , is the unexpected product of a reaction beteween (Dipp)N(Li)SiMe3 (Dipp = 2,6-diiso-propyl-phen-yl), Me2NCN and CuBr. The compound is a one-dimensional polymer with a step structure derived from the association of inversion dimers, formed by bromido ligands bridging two Li(+) cations, each of which carries a di-methyl-cyanamide ligand. The planar (LiBr)2 unit of the polymer core has a regular rhombic shape [Li-Br-Li 77.55?(16)° and Br-Li-Br 102.45?(16)°]. These (LiBr·NCNMe2)2 dimers represent the repeat unit of a polymer system propagated by additional Br-Li and Li-Br bonds generating an infinite step structure along the a-axis direction.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(2)Br(3)(C(11)H(9)N(2)O(2))](n), was one of three isolated by slow evaporation of an acetonitrile reaction mixture of CuBr(2) with di-2-pyridyl ketone (1:1 molar ratio). The title complex contains a 2:1 metal-to-ligand ratio of copper(II) with the hydrated form of the ligand, di-2-pyridylmethane-diol. The two copper centers are bridged by a bromide ion and the alk-oxy O atom, and the Cu-Cu distance is 2.9801?(5)?Å. The dimeric units are further linked by bromide ions, leading to a two-dimensional extended bridged structure. O-H?O hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure.

Project description:Cobalt(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate and sodium dicyanamide self-assembled in dimethyl-formamide (DMF) and 4-methyl-pyridine solutions to form the title compound, [Co(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(6)H(7)N)(2)](n). The Co(2+) ion lies on an inversion center and adopts an octa-hedral coordination geometry in which four N atoms from four different dicyanamide ligands lie in the equatorial plane and two 4-methyl-pyridine N atoms occupy the axial positions. The Co(II) atoms are connected by two bridging dicyanamide ligands, resulting in a chain parallel to the c axis. The chains are connected into a three-dimensional network by C-H?N hydrogen bonds.
