Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C(22)H(23)O(4)PSe, the P atom has a distorted tetra-hedral environment formed by the selenide atom [P=Se = 2.1219?(5)?Å] and three aryl rings. The orientations of the meth-oxy groups in the two 2,4-dimeth-oxy-phenyl ligands are distinct, as seen from the torsion angles: C-C-O-C = 14.7?(3) and 175.97?(17)° in one ligand, and -9.1?(2) and 5.1?(3)° in the other. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?Se inter-actions link the mol-ecules into zigzag chains propagated in [010].

Project description:In the title compound, C12H8N2O4Se, the Se atom is situated on a twofold rotational axis, so the asymmetric unit contains one half-mol-ecule. In the mol-ecule, the C-Se-C angle is 99.48?(13)°, the two benzene rings are inclined to each other at an angle of 63.8?(1)° and the nitro group is twisted by 15.9?(1)° from the attached benzene ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are held together through weak C-H?O inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

A cone angle of 170° was calculated using an adaptation of the Tolman model. Inter-molecular C-H?Se and C-H?Cg contacts are observed (Cg is the centroid of the benzene ring).

Sterically favoured non-H-atom C?O inter-molecular contacts are observed in the structure, within a 3.00?Å range. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H?O and C-H?F hydrogen bonds and an inter-molecular ?-? inter-action [centroid-centroid separation of 3.783?(1)?Å]. Alternating C-H?O and C-H?F inter-molecular inter-actions generate chains running along the a axis, while a centrosymmetric R(2) (2)(16) ring involving C-H?O inter-actions is formed centred at (1/2, 1/2, 0).
