The -CH(2)- groups and the O atom are disordered over two sites with equal occupancy, the disorder of the O atom being symmetry imposed. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (001) via inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(18)H(18)N(4)O)(2)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)·1.5CH(3)CN·0.25H(2)O, the Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms from two tridentate 1,3-bis-(1-methyl-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-2-oxopropane ligands in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The lengths of the chemically equivalent Cd-O bonds [2.4850?(16) and 2.5488?(16)Å] are signiificantly different. One of the picrate anions is disordered over two sets of sites, with refined occupancies of 0.504?(15) and 0.496?(15). A 0.5-occupancy acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two sites with equal occupancies. The H atoms of a 0.25-occupancy solvent water mol-ecule were neither located nor included in the refinement.

The dihedral angles between the benzimidazole ring system and the phenyl rings in each of the benzyl-benzimidazole units are 78.56?(12), 81.68?(11), 75.76?(10) and 85.78?(9)°. In the crystal structure, there are weak but significant inter-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.685?(1) and 3.978?(1)?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(17)H(13)N(4) (+)·BF(4) (-), contains one half of the benzimidazolium cation and one half of the tetra-fluoridoborate anion, with crystallographic mirror planes bis-ecting the mol-ecules. One F atom of the tetra-fluoridoborate is equally disordered about a crystallographic mirror plane. In the crystal, C-H?F inter-actions link the cations and anions into layers parallel to (100). The crystal packing is further stabilized by F?? contacts involving the tetra-fluoridoborate anions and the five-membered rings [F?centroid = 2.811?(2)?Å].

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, C(17)H(20)N(4)O(5), contains a central fused-ring system, comprised of six- and five-membered rings. This unit is linked by C(2) chains to two 2-oxo-1,3-oxazolidine five-membered rings. The central fused-ring system is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.008?(1)?Å from the mean plane. Both oxazolidine five-membered rings are also nearly planar, with maximum deviations of 0.090?(1) and 0.141?(1)?Å.
