Trans-Tetra-carbonyl-bis-[tris-(4-fluoro-phen-yl)phosphane-κP]chromium(0).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cr(C(18)H(12)F(3)P)(2)(CO)(4)], the Cr atom is octa-hedrally coordinated by four carbonyl ligands and the two tertiary phosphanes that are trans to each other. The Cr atom and two carbonyl groups are on a twofold axis. The benzene rings attached to the phospho-rus atom make dihedral angles of 80.32 (5), 52.91 (5) and 83.80 (5)° with each other. In the crystal, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F inter-molecular inter-actions form an infinite three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cr(C(18)H(12)F(3)P)(2)(CO)(4)], the Cr atom is octa-hedrally coordinated by four carbonyl ligands and the two tertiary phosphanes, which are trans to each other. The three benzene rings in one phosphane ligand make dihedral angles of 53.50 (9), 75.51 (10) and 80.63 (10)° with each other, while in the other ligand these angles are 51.92 (10), 78.56 (11) and 86.80 (10)°. C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F inter-actions link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. Each of the F atoms is disordered over two positions with refined occupancies of 0.944 (3):0.056 (3), 0.702 (4):0.298 (4), 0.829 (4):0.171 (4), 0.567 (4):0.433 (4), 0.545 (4):0.455 (4) and 0.920 (4):0.080 (4).

Project description:The well known title compound, trans-[Mo(C18H15P)2(CO)4], has not been studied previously by X-ray crystallography, unlike its cis isomer. The complex possesses crystallographically imposed inversion symmetry, with the Mo atom residing on an inversion centre (1a Wyckoff position). The two tri-phenyl-phosphane groups are arranged in a staggered orientation. Each of the phenyl groups exhibits significantly different Mo-P-C-C torsion angles ranging from 2.6 (2) to 179.4 (1)°, most likely due to steric inter-actions based upon their positions relative to the carbonyl ligands.

Project description:The title complex, [RhCl(C(21)H(21)O(3)P)(2)(CO)], is a rhodium analogue to Vaska's complex with para-meth-oxy substituents on the six phosphan-yl-aryl units. Two independent mol-ecules are present in the unit cell, with their metal atoms both located on an inversion centre. This causes the chloride and carbonyl ligands to exhibit a positional disorder in a 0.5:0.5 ratio. The two Rh(I) atoms exhibit a distorted square-planar geometry. There are a few weak intra-molecular C-H⋯X inter-actions (X = O, Cl). Inter-estingly, no significant inter-molecular inter-actions are found between the two independent mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(NO(3))(C(18)H(12)F(3)P)(3)], the ligating atoms define a distorted tetrahedon with the three tris-(4-fluoro-phen-yl)phosphane ligands in the basal positions and the nitrate ligand in the axial position. The intra-molecular π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6113 (11) Å] between two of the 4-fluoro-phenyl groups is complemented by both C-H⋯F and C-H⋯O inter-actions with distances in the range 2.51-2.60 Å, resulting in a tight head-to-tail packing.

The rhodium complexes link each other through weak inter-molecular contacts between the acetone methyl groups and the carbonyl O atom. Inter-actions between the acetone solvent mol-ecule and the Cl-Rh unit results in a reduced P-Rh-Cl angle of 86.675 (15)°.
