1-Methyl-3-(4-chloro-benzo-yl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-1-ium-2-olate.

ABSTRACT: In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(15)H(11)ClN(2)O(2), the nine-membered heterobicycle is approximately planar [largest deviation from least-squares plane = 0.012?(2)?Å] and forms a dihedral angle of 51.14?(8)° with the plane of the 4-chloro-phenyl group. There is a non-classical intra-molecular hydrogen bond between the pyridine ?-H atom and the O atom of the benzoyl group. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H?O and C-H?Cl inter-actions involving the 'olate' O atom and the Cl atom attached to the benzoyl group as acceptors.

Project description:In the title compound, C9H10N2O, the imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine moiety is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.024?Å). The methanol group is nearly perpendicular to its mean plane as indicated by the C-C-C-O and N-C-C-O torsion angles of 80.04?(16) and -96.30?(17)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with an R (2) 2(10) ring motif. The dimers are liked via C-H?O hydrogen bonds, enclosing R (2) 2(10) ring motifs and forming ribbons along [201]. The ribbons are linked via a number of ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances vary from 3.4819?(8) to 3.7212?(8)?Å], forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C14H11Cl2N5O, the plane of the 1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine ring system [r.m.s. deviation = 0.087 (19) Å] makes a dihedral angle of 4.87 (10)° with the terminal phenyl ring. An intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bond stabilizes the mol-ecular conformation. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into inversion dimers. Project description:The structure of the organic cation in the title compound, C(15)H(16)N(3) (+)·ClO(4) (-), contains two essentially planar rings. Mean planes fitted through all non-H atoms of each ring system have an r.m.s. deviation of 0.019?Å for the imidazole-based ring and 0.016?Å for the 2,6-dimethyl-phenyl ring. The angle between the two planes is 86.76?(2)°. In the crystal structure, N-H?O inter-actions form a one-dimensional chain, which propagates in the b-axis direction. C-H?O inter-actions are also found in the crystal packing.

Project description:The side product of the cyclo-condensation reaction between ethyl benzimidazole-2-carboxyl-ate and the nitrile imine of the corresponding hydrazonyl chloride, C20H11BrClN5O, crystallized in two crystal forms. Form (1) is a co-crystal of the target compound (without any chlorine substituent) and a side product containing a Cl atom in position 2 of the bromo-phenyl group, C20H12BrN5O·0.143C20H11BrClN5O. (2) contains the pure side product. The slightly different conformation of the ring systems leads to a different packing of (1) and (2), but both crystal structures are dominated by π-π inter-actions.

Project description:In the title imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives, N-tert-butyl-2-(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)-5-methyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-amine, C19H23N3O, (I), and N-tert-butyl-2-[4-(di-methyl-amino)-phen-yl]imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-amine, C19H24N4, (II), the 4-meth-oxy-phenyl ring in (I) and the 4-(di-methyl-amino)-phenyl ring in (II) are inclined to the respective imidazole rings by 26.69?(9) and 31.35?(10)°. In the crystal of (I), mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along the [001] direction. The chains are linked by C-H?? inter-actions, forming layers parallel to the (010) plane. In (II), the crystal packing also features N-H?N hydrogen bonds, which together with C-H?N hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules to form chains propagating along the c-axis direction. The chains are linked by C-H?? inter-actions to form layers parallel to the (100) plane. Inversion-related layers are linked by offset ?-? inter-actions [inter-centroid distance = 3.577?(1)?Å]. The inter-molecular inter-actions of both compounds were analyzed using Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots.
