Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C14H16N4O2 (2+)·2C9H5O6 (-), comprises half a dication, being located about a centre of inversion, and one anion, in a general position. The central C4N2O2 group of atoms in the dication are almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.009 Å), and the carbonyl groups lie in an anti disposition to enable the formation of intra-molecular amide-N-H⋯O(carbon-yl) hydrogen bonds. To a first approximation, the pyridinium and amide N atoms lie to the same side of the mol-ecule [Npy-C-C-Namide torsion angle = 34.8 (2)°], and the anti pyridinium rings are approximately perpendicular to the central part of the mol-ecule [dihedral angle = 68.21 (8)°]. In the anion, one carboxyl-ate group is almost coplanar with the ring to which it is connected [Cben-Cben-Cq-O torsion angle = 2.0 (3)°], whereas the other carboxyl-ate and carb-oxy-lic acid groups are twisted out of the plane [torsion angles = 16.4 (3) and 15.3 (3)°, respectively]. In the crystal, anions assemble into layers parallel to (10-4) via hy-droxy-O-H⋯O(carbon-yl) and charge-assisted hy-droxy-O-H⋯O(carboxyl-ate) hydrogen bonds. The dications are linked into supra-molecular tapes by amide-N-H⋯O(amide) hydrogen bonds, and thread through the voids in the anionic layers, being connected by charge-assisted pyridinium-N-O(carboxyl-ate) hydrogen bonds, so that a three-dimensional architecture ensues. An analysis of the Hirshfeld surface points to the importance of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding in the crystal structure.

4-Carb-oxy-pyridin-1-ium 2,4,5-tri-carb-oxy-benzoate monohydrate.

Project description:The title hydrated salt, C6H6NO2 (+)·C10H5O8 (-)·H2O, was isolated from the 1:1 cocrystallization of benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carb-oxy-lic acid and isonicotinic acid in ethanol solution. In the crystal, the cation is close to planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.085?Å for the nine fitted atoms; the C-C-C-O(carbon-yl) torsion angle = -8.7?(4)°], but twists are evident in the anion, with all but the carb-oxy-lic acid group diagonally opposite the carboxyl-ate group being significantly twisted out of the plane of the benzene ring [C-C-C-O(carbon-yl) torsion angles = -118.1?(2), -157.6?(2), 4.3?(3) and 77.3?(3)°]. In the crystal, the ions and water mol-ecules are consolidated into a three-dimensional architecture by O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonding along with C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(10)H(9)N(2)O(2) (+)·Cl(-)·2H(2)O, the components are linked by O-H?O, N-H?O, O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. In the cation, the imidazole ring is oriented at a dihedral angle of 13.67?(17)° with respect to the benzene ring. In the crystal, ?-? stacking occurs between nearly parallel benzene rings, which are oriented at a dihedral angle of 3.4?(1)°, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.798?(3)?Å.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(15)H(11)ClN(2)O(2), the nine-membered heterobicycle is approximately planar [largest deviation from least-squares plane = 0.012?(2)?Å] and forms a dihedral angle of 51.14?(8)° with the plane of the 4-chloro-phenyl group. There is a non-classical intra-molecular hydrogen bond between the pyridine ?-H atom and the O atom of the benzoyl group. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H?O and C-H?Cl inter-actions involving the 'olate' O atom and the Cl atom attached to the benzoyl group as acceptors.

In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the zwitterions and water mol-ecules into sheets parallel to (102).

Project description:In the title imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives, N-tert-butyl-2-(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)-5-methyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-amine, C19H23N3O, (I), and N-tert-butyl-2-[4-(di-methyl-amino)-phen-yl]imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-amine, C19H24N4, (II), the 4-meth-oxy-phenyl ring in (I) and the 4-(di-methyl-amino)-phenyl ring in (II) are inclined to the respective imidazole rings by 26.69?(9) and 31.35?(10)°. In the crystal of (I), mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along the [001] direction. The chains are linked by C-H?? inter-actions, forming layers parallel to the (010) plane. In (II), the crystal packing also features N-H?N hydrogen bonds, which together with C-H?N hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules to form chains propagating along the c-axis direction. The chains are linked by C-H?? inter-actions to form layers parallel to the (100) plane. Inversion-related layers are linked by offset ?-? inter-actions [inter-centroid distance = 3.577?(1)?Å]. The inter-molecular inter-actions of both compounds were analyzed using Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots.

Project description:The structure of the organic cation in the title compound, C(15)H(16)N(3) (+)·ClO(4) (-), contains two essentially planar rings. Mean planes fitted through all non-H atoms of each ring system have an r.m.s. deviation of 0.019?Å for the imidazole-based ring and 0.016?Å for the 2,6-dimethyl-phenyl ring. The angle between the two planes is 86.76?(2)°. In the crystal structure, N-H?O inter-actions form a one-dimensional chain, which propagates in the b-axis direction. C-H?O inter-actions are also found in the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title compound, C18H14NO3 (+)·Cl(-)·CH3CH2OH, the dihedral angle formed by the mean planes of the quinolinium and benzene rings is 3.4?(1)°, while the carb-oxy substituent is tilted at an angle of 4.8?(1)° with respect to the benzene ring. There is a short N-H?O contact in the cation. In the crystal, due to the planar mol-ecular geometry, two-dimensional aggregates are formed parallel to (221) via C-H?O, C-H?Cl, O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Inter-layer association is accomplished by O-Hethanol?Cl and O-H?Oethanol hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances vary from 3.6477?(12) to 3.8381?(11)?Å]. A supra-molecular three-dimensional architecture results from a stacked arrangement of layers comprising the ionic and hydrogen-bonded components.
