Bis(triphenyl-?-phosphanylidene)ammonium hydrogen dichloride.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [(Ph(3)P)(2)N](+)·[Cl-H-Cl](-) or C(36)H(30)NP(2) (+)·Cl(2)H(-), the H atom of the [Cl-H-Cl](-) anion and the N atom of the [(Ph(3)P)(2)N](+) cation are located on a twofold axis, yielding overall symmetry 2 for both the cation and the anion. The central P-N-P angle [144.12?(13)°] of the cation is in the expected range and indicates only weak cation-anion inter-actions. The almost linear [Cl-H-Cl](-) anion is a rare example of a symmetric hydrogen bridge in a hydrogen dichloride anion. The Cl?Cl distance and two equal Cl-H bonds are typical of such a symmetric hydrogen dichloride anion.

Project description:In the title molecular salt, C12H14N3 (+)·NH4 (+)·2Cl(-), the central, secondary-amine, N atom is protonated. The bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]ammonium and ammonium cations both lie across a twofold rotation axis. The dihedral angles between the planes of the pyridine rings is 68.43 (8)°. In the crystal, N-H⋯N and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the components of the structure, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (010). In addition, weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds exist within the two-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, 2C6H5CH2NH3 (+)·H2P2O7 (2-), contains two independent benzyl-ammonium cations and a di-hydrogen diphosphate dianion. In the crystal, O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (010). Within this network, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed.

Project description:The title compound, C(36)H(30)NP(2) (+)·I(-), was obtained accidently from crystallization of a reaction mixture containing [(Ph(3)P)(2)N]OH and B(OH)(3), which was contaminated with MeI. There are two independent [(Ph(3)P)(2)N](+) cations and two I(-) anions within the asymmetric unit. The central PNP angles are non-linear [137.6?(2) and 134.4?(2)°] and the phenyl substituents on P centres adopt different conformations within these two cations.

A second polymorph of bis-(triphenyl-λ(5)-phosphanyl-idene)ammonium chloride-boric acid adduct.

Project description:The title crystal structure is a new triclinic polymorph of [(Ph3P)2N]Cl·(B(OH)3) or C36H30NP2 (+)·Cl(-)·BH3O3. The crystal structure of the ortho-rhom-bic polymorph was reported by [Andrews et al. (1983 ▶). Acta Cryst. C39, 880-882]. In the crystal, the [(Ph3P)2N](+) cations have no significant contacts to the chloride ions nor to the boric acid mol-ecules. This is indicated by the P-N-P angle of 137.28 (8)°, which is in the expected range for a free [(Ph3P)2N](+) cation. The boric acid mol-ecules form inversion dimers via pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and each boric acid mol-ecule forms two additional O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to one chloride anion. These entities fill channels, created by the [(Ph3P)2N](+) cations, along the c-axis direction.

One of the cations is disordered about another center of inversion.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title organotin salt, (C(8)H(20)N)[Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)(CH(4)O(3)P)(2)], contains two dibutyl-ammonium cations and two stannate(IV) anions consisting each of two monodentately bonding methyl hydrogenphosphate groups attached to an Sn(C(6)H(5)) unit. The overall coordination environment of the two Sn(IV) atoms is trigonal-bipyramidal defined by three phenyl C atoms in equatorial positions and two methyl hydrogenphosphate O atoms at the apical sites. In the crystal, the stannate(IV) anions are linked to each other via pairs of short O-H?O hydrogen bonds, leading to an infinite chain extending parallel to the b-axis direction. Neighbouring chains are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the butyl-ammonium cations, giving a two-dimensional structure parallel to the ab plane. The crystal under investigation was found to be twinned by reticular merohedry with twin fractions of 0.5342?(7):0.4658?(7).

Project description:In the title compound, (C(12)H(24)N)[Sn(CH(3))(3)(C(6)H(6)O(3)P)(2)], the SnMe(3) residues are axially coordinated by two monodentate [PhPO(3)H](-) anions, leading to a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry for the Sn(IV) atom. The two [SnMe(3)(PhPO(3)H)(2)](-) anions in the unit cell are associated into infinite chains along the a axis by O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the hy-droxy group of the hydrogen phenyl-phospho-nate ion. The chains inter-act with one another via O-H?O hydrogen bonds along the c axis. These networks of anions assemble with the dicyclo-hexyl-ammonium ion through N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound (C(5)H(14)NO)(4)[Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4)Cl(2)]Cl(2), consists of a pair of Cu(II) ions bridged by four acetate groups, resulting in a Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4) unit, four (3-hydroxy-prop-yl)dimethyl-ammonium cations (two crystallographically independent pairs) and two chloride anions. The Cu atoms at both termini are bonded to chloride anions. The latter are hydrogen bonded to one of the two pairs of crystallographically independent (3-hydroxy-prop-yl)dimethyl-ammonium cations. The Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4) unit is located on a crystallographic inversion center, and the geometry around each metal center is close to octa-hedral. The Cl-Cu-Cu angles are nearly linear [177.48?(2)°] and the Cu-O bond lengths are in the range 1.9712?(18)-1.9809?(19)?Å. The Cu?Cu separation between the two acetate-bridged Cu(II) centers is 2.6793?(8)?Å. The packing of the crystal structure is dominated by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonding between the ammonium groups and the chloride anions, as well as by O-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. One of the 3-hydroxypropyldimethylammonium cations shows orientational disorder with an occupancy ratio of 0.812?(4): 0.188?(4).

Project description:In the title compound, 2C(8)H(20)N(+)·2C(4)H(5)O(6) (-)·C(4)H(6)O(6)·H(2)O, the presence of the two tetra-ethyl-ammonium cations is balanced by two hydrogen l-tartrate anions. Also present in the asymmetric unit are a mol-ecule of l-tartaric acid and a water mol-ecule. The various components are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, two-dimensional networks are formed via O-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-H?O inter-actions involving the water mol-ecule, the hydrogen l-tartrate anions and the l-tartaric acid mol-ecules. These layers, which stack along [001], are separated by tetra-ethyl-ammonium cations. The latter are also involved in C-H?O inter-actions with the anions and the l-tartaric acid and water mol-ecules participating in the two-dimensional network.
