Poly[[[?(2)-1,1'-(butane-1,4-di-yl)bis-(1H-imidazole)-?N:N](?(2)-2,6-di-methyl-pyridine-3,5-dicarboxyl-ato-?O:O)zinc] dihydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, {[Zn(C(9)H(7)NO(4))(C(10)H(14)N(4))]·2H(2)O}(n), the Zn(II) ion displays a distorted tetra-hedral geometry with two imidazole N atoms from two 1,1'-(butane-1,4-di-yl)bis-(imidazole) (bbi) ligands and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two 2,6-dimethyl-pyridine-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate (dpdc) ligands. The bbi and dpdc ligands bridge the Zn(II) ions, forming layers parallel to (011). O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions between the imidazole rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.807?(5)?Å] connect the layers. Two of the three uncoordinated water mol-ecules are disordered, each over two 0.25-occupancy positions.

Project description:In the title compound, [CoNa(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Co(II) atom is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms and four carboxyl-ate O atoms from two doubly deprotonated pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. One Na(+) cation is coordinated by three carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules and the other is coordinated by five carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules in an irregular geometry. The bis-(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ato)cobalt complex units are connected by Na(+) cations and bridging water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional coordination network. Project description:There are two independent La(III) cations in the polymeric title compound, {[La(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n). One is nine-coordinated in an LaN(2)O(7) tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry formed by three pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two water mol-ecules, while the other is ten-coordinated in an LaNO(9) bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by four pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two water mol-ecules. The two La(III) cations are separated by a non-bonding distance of 5.026 (3) Å. The pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions bridge the La(III) cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric complex. The crystal structure contains extensive classical O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further consolidated by π-π stacking between pyridine rings, the shortest centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.700 (5) Å.

The equatorial plane is formed by two N atoms and one O atom from 6-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)picolinate and by one N atom from pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate (pdc). Two pdc O atoms occupy the axial positions. Water mol-ecules are hydrogen bonded to the complex mol-ecules, forming a two-dimensional sheet structure.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(4)H(12)N(2))[Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n) or {(pipzH(2))[Bi(2)(pydc)(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), where pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and pipz is piperazine, was obtained by reaction of Bi(NO(3))(3)·5H(2)O with (pipzH(2))(pydc-H)(2)·3H(2)O in a 1:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution. There are two independent Bi(III) atoms in the structure, one of which is eight-coordinate with a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, and another which is nine-coordinate with a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The carboxyl-ate groups of the (pydc)(2-) ligands link dinuclear [Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)](2-) units into one-dimensional coordin-ation polymers. The pipzH(2) (2+) cations (site symmetry ) and non-coordinated water mol-ecules lie between these polymers, forming N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to the O atoms of the carboxylate groups.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(4)H(14)N(2))[Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·3H(2)O or (bdaH(2))[Cu(pydc)(2)]·3H(2)O (where bda is butane-1,4-diamine and pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four O atoms [Cu-O = 2.0557 (16)-2.3194 (16) Å] and two N atoms [Cu-N = 1.9185 (18) and 1.9638 (18) Å] from two chelating rings of the pydc(2-) anions, which act as tridentate ligands. The geometry of the resulting CuN(2)O(4) coordination can be described as distorted octa-hedral. The the two pydc(2-) fragments are almost perpendicular to one another [77.51 (11)°]. To balance the charges, two centrosymmetric protonated butane-1,4-diammonium, (bdaH(2))(2+) cations are present. In the crystal structure, extensive O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds [D⋯A = 2.720 (2)-3.446 (3) Å], ion pairing, C-O⋯π [O⋯π = 3.099 (2) Å] and π-π stacking inter-actions between the pydc(2-) rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5334 (15) Å] contribute to the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the polymeric title complex, [Zn(C(9)H(7)NO(4))](n), the Zn(II) cation is located on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated by five 2,6-dimethyl-pyridine-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate (mpdc) anions in a distorted ZnNO(4) trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The mpdc anion is also located on the twofold rotation axis and bridges five Zn(II) cations, forming the three-dimensional polymeric complex. Weak C-H⋯π inter-actions are present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Ag(C(10)H(14)N(4))(H(2)O)](C(14)H(8)O(4))(0.5)·2H(2)O}(n), the Ag(I) ion is three-coordinated by two N atoms from two independent 1,1'-(butane-1,4-di-yl)di-1H-imidazole (BBI) ligands and one water O atom in a distorted T-shaped coordination geometry. The biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxyl-ate (BPDC) dianions do not coordinate to Ag(I) ions but act as counter-ions. The Ag(I) ions are linked by BBI ligands, forming a zigzag chain. These chains are linked into a two-dimensional supra-molecular architecture by O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms of the BPDC dianions.
