ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [CdBr(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2)O(2))](n), the Cd(II) ion, situated on an inversion centre, is coordinated by four bridging Br atoms and two N atoms from two 1,4-bis-(4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)benzene (L) ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The L ligand, which also lies across an inversion centre, bridges two Cd(II) ions, forming layers parallel to (010).

Each L ligand also lies across an inversion center and bridges two Cu(II) ions, forming a polymeric chain running along the [101] direction. The three O atoms of the nitrate group are disordered over two positions in a 3:2 ratio.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(10)N(2)O, is approximately planar. The angle between the quinoline and 4,5-dihydro-oxazole ring systems is 11.91 (12)°. The mol-ecules pack into a herringbone array with no significant π-π inter-actions. The dihydro-oxazole N and O atoms are disordered over two positions, with almost equal site occupancy factors.

Project description:The title coordination polymer, {[Cd(C8H4O4)(C14H14N4)]·C3H7NO} n , was synthesized by solvothermal reaction of metallic cadmium with the semi-rigid neutral ligand 1,4-bis-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)meth-yl]benzene (bix) and the V-shaped benzene-1,3-di-carb-oxy-lic acid (m-H2bdc). The structure exhibits a pseudo-C-centring which is almost fulfilled by the polymeric metal complex but not by the solvent dimethylform-amide (DMF) mol-ecules. The asymmetric unit contains two independent Cd(II) ions, two m-bdc(2-) ligands, one and two half bix ligands, and two solvent DMF mol-ecules. The Cd(II) ions are both five-coordinated by three O atoms from two different m-bdc(2-) ligands and two N atoms from two different bix ligands in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The m-bdc(2-) ligands adopt a chelate-monodentate coordination mode, connecting neighboring Cd(II) ions into a zigzag chain parallel to [110]. Adjacent chains are further cross-linked by bix ligands, giving rise to a puckered sheet nearly perpendicular to the chain direction. Thus, each Cd(II) ion is connected to four neighboring Cd(II) ions through two m-bdc(2-) anions and two bix ligands, giving rise to the final non-inter-penetrating uninodal layer with sql (4,4) topology.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C8F4O4)(C2H5OH)2] n , the Cd(II) cation sits on an inversion centre and is coordinated by six O atoms from four tetra-fluoro-benzene-1,4-di-carboxyl-ate anions and two ethanol mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The anionic ligand is also located on an inversion centre, and connects four Cd(II) cations, generating a two-dimensional polymeric layer parallel to the ab plane. Within the layer, the ethanol mol-ecule links F and O atoms of the nearest anionic ligands via O-H?O and O-H?F hydrogen bonds. The ethyl group of the ethanol mol-ecule is disordered over two positions with an occupancy ratio of 0.567?(10):0.433?(10).

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a new coordination polymer of benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate with cadmium(II) and 1,10-phenanthroline. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule, three O atoms from two crystallographically independent benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule, forming a heavily distorted octa-hedron. The 1,10-phenanthroline ligand is approximately planar within 0.073 (4) Å. The two different benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands each coordinate to two Cd(II) ions in bidentate and monodentate modes, forming an infinite zigzag chain. Adjacent chains are packed tightly by strong π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.851 (2) and 3.859 (2) Å] between the aromatic rings of the benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and the 1,10-phenanthroline of a neighboring chain, forming a sheet parallel to (011). Different sheets are linked together via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and the O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(3)(C(12)H(12)N(2)O(2))(4)](PF(6))(3), one Ag(I) ion, lying on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by four N atoms from four 1,3-bis-(4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)benzene (L) ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry and the other Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two L ligands in a bent arrangement [N-Ag-N = 169.03 (17)°]. Two L ligands adopt a syn conformation, while the other two adopt an anti conformation. They bridge adjacent Ag(I) ions, forming a trinuclear complex. One of the PF(6) (-) anions is half-occupied, with the P atom located on a twofold rotation axis. The PF(6) (-) anions link the complex mol-ecules via Ag⋯F inter-actions [2.80 (2) and 2.85 (2) Å] into a polymeric chain along [100].

Project description:The commercially available title compound, C(25)H(23)N(3)O(2), has been known since 1993 [Nesper et al. (1993 ?). Helv. Chim. Acta, 76, 2239-2249], but has not been structurally characterized until now. In the free ligand, the N atoms of both oxazoline rings point in opposite directions. The phenyl rings make dihedral angles of 30.56?(5) and 84.57?(3)° with the pyridine ring and 72.85?(3)° with each other.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(11)H(6)N(2)O)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cd(II) atom is seven-coordinated by two N atoms from the phenanthroline-derived 4,5-diaza-fluorene-9-one ligand, two O atoms from one bidentate benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and three O atoms from the three water mol-ecules in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal arrangement. Moreover, there are two dissociative water mol-ecules in each unit. Neighbouring units inter-act through π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.325 (3) and 3.358 (4) Å] and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding, resulting in a two-dimensional network extending parallel to (001).
