ABSTRACT: A gram-scale enantiospecific synthesis of the A'B'-subunit of angelmicin B is reported. The synthesis involves a Lewis acid catalyzed contrasteric Diels-Alder reaction and a tandem silyl zincate 1,6-addition/enolate oxidation sequence.
