ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cd(C(6)H(4)N(3)O(3)S)(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, the Cd(2+) cation is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by four N atoms from two symmetry-related 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two sulfonate O atoms from two benzotriazole-7-sulfonate anions, displaying a distorted CdN(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, O-H?N, O-H?O, N-H?O, C-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur. The lattice water mol-ecules and sulfonate O atoms as donor or acceptor atoms play important roles in the formation of these inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(3)(C(5)HN(2)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, is a trinuclear copper(II) complex in which two centrosymmetrically related pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate(3-) and 1,10-phenanthroline ligands bind three Cu(II) atoms, with one Cu(II) atom located on a center of symmetry. In each complex, there are four coordinated water mol-ecules and two solvent water mol-ecules, which participate in extensive hydrogen-bond patterns. These inter-actions, as well as ?-? inter-actions between neighbouring 1,10-phenanthroline ligands [shortest atom-to-atom distance = 3.363?(3)?Å], extend the crystal structure into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cd(C(14)H(9)N(5))(2)](ClO(4))(2), the Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two tridentate 2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-1,10-phenanthroline ligands in a distorted octa-hedral CdN(6) environment. In both 2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-1,10-phenanthroline ligands, the 1,2,4-triazolyl ring and the 1,10-phenanthroline ring system are essentially coplanar [maximun deviations of 0.136?(7) and 0.273?(5)?Å, respectively]. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the ligands is 89.65?(4)°. In the crystal structure, there is a weak ?-? stacking inter-action between a pyridine ring and a symmetry-related benzene ring with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.772?(3)?Å.

Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of a two-dimensional layer structure parallel to (001). Project description:The title compound, [Cd(NCS)(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], has been obtained from the decomposition reaction of dithio-oxamide in a dimethyl-formamide solution containing 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and Cd(NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O. Its crystal structure is formed by monuclear Cd(II) entities in which the metal atom is sited on a twofold rotation axis. The Cd(II) atom is six-coordinated in the form of a distorted octa-hedron by two chelating phenanthroline mol-ecules and two thio-cyanate anions coordinated through their N atoms. In the crystal, C-H?N hydrogen bonds are established between the phenanthroline and thio-cyanate ligands of neighbouring complexes.

Project description:The structure of the the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(7)H(3)ClO(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, consists of a dimeric unit involving a planar Cu(2)O(2) group arranged around an inversion center. The coordination sphere of the Cu(II) atom can be described as an elongated distorted square pyramid where the basal plane is formed by the two N atoms of the 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule and the two O atoms of the hydroxy-chloro-benzoate (hcbe) anion. The long apical Cu-O distance of 2.569 (2) Å involves the O atom of a symmetry-related hcbe anion, building up the dinuclear unit. Each dinuclear unit is connected through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving two water mol-ecules, resulting in an R(4) (2)(8) graph-set motif and building up an infinite chain parallel to (10). C-H⋯O inter-actions further stabilize the chain.
