ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cd(C(6)H(4)N(3)O(3)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))], the Cd(2+) cation is located on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated by two N and two O atoms from two symmetry-related benzotriazole-4-sulfonate anions and two N atoms from a 2,2-bipyridyl ligand, displaying a distorted CdN(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

In the crystal, O-H?N, O-H?O, N-H?O, C-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur. The lattice water mol-ecules and sulfonate O atoms as donor or acceptor atoms play important roles in the formation of these inter-actions.

Project description:The dinuclear title complex, [Cd(2)I(4)(C(12)H(13)N(5))(2)], lies on a crystallographic center of inversion. The Cd(II) atom is four-coordinated by two N atoms from two 1-[(2-ethyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)meth-yl]-1H-benzotriazole (bmei) ligands and two terminal I atoms in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment. The Cd(II) atoms are connected to each other by two bridging bmei ligands. The benzotriazole rings in adjacent mol-ecules are almost parallel, with an average inter-planar distance of 3.3400 (2) Å and a centroid-centroid distance of 4.852 (2) Å.

The trifluoro-methyl fragment is rotationally disordered between two orientations in a 0.640?(7):0.360?(7) ratio. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·CH(3)OH, contains one monomeric seven-coordinate cadmium complex and one methanol solvate mol-ecule. The Cd(II) atom is coordinated to two 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands via the N atoms and to two salicylate anions (Hsal(-)) via the carboxyl-ate O atoms, which act as monodentate ligand for the one and bidentate ligand for the second. The Cd(II) atom exhibits a {6 + 1} environment, approximately described as a distorted capped octa-hedron with the apical positions occupied by one of the two N atoms belonging to one bipyridyl ligand and one of the two carboxyl-ate O atoms from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. Two intra-molecular six-membered hydrogen-bonded rings are present, generated from inter-actions between the carboxyl-ate and hydr-oxy groups of the salicylate ligands. There is one inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-action involving the methanol solvent mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate group from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. The crystal packing is governed by ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.783?(4)?Å] which occur between bipyridyl ligands, by C-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions and by numerous van der Waals contacts.

Project description:The Cd(II) atom in the title compound, [Cd(C(6)H(12)NS(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))], is hexa-coordinated by two dithio-carbamate ligands and the N atoms from a bidentate 2,2'-bipyridyl mol-ecule. The coordination geometry is based on a distorted trigonal-prismatic arrangement of the N(2)S(4) donor set. Supra-molecular chains, aligned along the a-axis direction, are mediated by C-H⋯S inter-actions and these are connected into layers that stack along the c axis via π-π inter-actions [Cg(pyrid-yl)⋯Cg(pyrid-yl) = 3.6587 (13) Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of title compound, [Cd(C(9)H(6)NO(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·0.5C(10)H(8)N(2)·2H(2)O, consists of one complex mol-ecule, one half of an uncoordinated 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule and two solvent water mol-ecules. The uncoordinated 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule is located on a center of symmetry. Within the complex mol-ecule, the Cd(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and three O atoms from two 1H-indole-2-carboxyl-ate anion ligands, completing a distorted CdN(4)O(3) penta-gonal bipyra-mid. The mol-ecules are assembled into one-dimensional chains along the [100] direction through classical hydrogen bonds (O-H?N, N-H?O and O-H?O). The resulting chains are further connected into two-dimensional supra-molecular layers parallel to the (110) direction by inter-molecular classical hydrogen bonds (N-H?O and O-H?O) from adjacent chains. A three-dimensional supra-molecular network is formed via interlayer and O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In title complex, [Mn(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Mn(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry by six N atoms. Four of the N atoms are from two chelating bipyridine ligands and two are from a pair of cis-coordinated dicyanamide ligands. The dihedral angle formed by the mean planes of the bipyridine rings is 85.93?(14)°. The central N atom of one of the dicyanamide ligands was refined as disordered over two sites with equal occupancies.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(2))]·2H(2)O, a novel tricyano-methanide complex, the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with two 2,2'-bipyridyl dioxide (dpdo) mol-ecules and two trans tricyano-methanide (tcm) anions. The equatorial plane is formed by the four O atoms of the two chelating dpdo ligands, with one N atom of each of the two tcm ligands occupying an apical position. There is a disordered solvent water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit (occupancy ratio 0.63:0.37). These water mol-ecules result in the formation of O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds, building a layer parallel to (100). The layers are linked by C-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to a three-dimensional network.

The bridging ligands generate an 18-membered ring, which is stabilized by two pairs of intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(8)H(6)N(3)O(2))(2)·6H(2)O, contains one half of the centrosymmetric binuclear cation, one anion and three water mol-ecules. In the cation, the oxalate ligand bridges two Zn(II) ions in a bis-bidentate fashion, so each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two O atoms from the oxalate ligand, two N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral arrangement. The mean planes of the oxalate and 2,2'-bipyridine ligands form a dihedral angle of 80.0 (1)°. An extensive three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network formed by classical O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N inter-actions consolidates the crystal packing.
