ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Fe(C(12)H(8)N(3)O(2))(2)][Fe(C(12)H(8)N(3)O(2))(CN)(3)]·H(2)O, the Fe(3+) ions in the cation and anion each lie in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The solvent water mol-ecule is disordered over three positions with occupancies of 0.401?(7), 0.322?(7) and 0.277?(6). The water content was confirmed by thermogravimetric data.

Project description:The structure of the title salt complex, [Fe(C(12)H(8)N(3)O(2))(2)]ClO(4)·H(2)O, contains one Fe(III) cation, two N-(pyridin-2-ylcarbon-yl)pyridine-2-carboxamidate (bpca(-)) anions, one perchlorate anion and one water mol-ecule. The Fe(III) cation has an approximate octa-hedral geometry, defined by six N atoms from two bpca(-) anions. The nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 1.50?(1)°] bpca(-) anions form two-dimensional supermolecules along the a axis by the way of weak ?-? stacking inteactirons [centroid-centroid distances = 3.948?(2), 4.000?(2), 3.948?(2), 3.911?(2), 3.897?(2), 3.984?(2) and 3.929?(2)?Å]. Intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs. The water mol-ecule [occupancies 0.520?(5) and 0.480?(5)], two carbonyl O atoms [occupancies 0.622?(7) and 0.378?(7)] and the four perchlorate O atoms [occupancies 0.887?(4) and 0.113?(4)] are each disordered over two positions.

Project description:In the structure of the title complex, {[CeFe(CN)(6)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Ce(III) and Fe(III) atoms exhibit square anti-prismatic [CeN(6)(H(2)O)(2)] (site symmetry m2m) and octahedral [FeC(6)] (site symmetry 2/m) coordination geometries, respectively. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C15H13N3O3·H2O, comprises a 4-{(E)-[2-(pyridin-4-ylcarbon-yl)hydrazinyl-idene]meth-yl}phenyl acetate mol-ecule and a solvent water mol-ecule linked by O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds from the water mol-ecule and a C-H?O contact from the organic mol-ecule. The compound adopts an E conformation with respect to the azomethine bond and the dihedral angle between the pyridine and benzene rings is 21.90?(7)°. The azomethine bond [1.275?(2)?Å] distance is very close to the formal C=N bond length, which confirms the azomethine bond formation. An extensive set of O-H?O, O-H?N, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds builds a two-dimensional network progressing along the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C12H8N3O2)(N3)(H2O)], was formed by the air oxidation of 2-(amino-meth-yl)pyridine in 95% ethanol in the presence of copper(II) nitrate and sodium azide with condensation of the resulting picolinamide mol-ecules to generate the imide moiety. The Cu(II) ion has a square-pyramidal coordination sphere, the basal plane being occupied by four N atoms [two pyridine (py) N atoms, the imide N atom and an azide N atom] in a nearly planar array [mean deviation = 0.048?(6)?Å] with the Cu(II) ion displaced slightly from the plane [0.167?(5)?Å] toward the fifth ligand. The apical position is occupied by a coordinating water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 2.319?(4)?Å]. The crystal structure is stabilized by hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the water mol-ecules and carbonyl O atoms. The inversion-related square-pyramidal complex molecules pack base-to-base with long Cu?Npy contact distances of 3.537?(9)?Å, preventing coordination of a sixth ligand.

The central Ni(II) cation has a distorted octa-hedral N(4)O(2) coordination environment where a reverse torsion occurs between the two bridging ligands, whereas the two Ni(II) cations on the sides each adopt an N(2)O(2) square-planar coordination. Weak intra-molecular C-H?O and C-H?N inter-actions help to stabilize the mol-ecular structure. In the crystal, the lattice water mol-ecule links with the Ni(II) complex and dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule via O-H?O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Nd(3)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(OH)(3)]·H(2)O}(n), the Nd(III) atom is eight-coordinated by the three O atoms of three asymmetrically ?(3)-bridging hydroxide groups, by four carboxyl-ate O atoms of four different pyridine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate (2,5-pydc) ligands, and by the N atom of a 2,5-pydc ligand. Six Nd atoms are connected by six hydroxide groups, forming an [Nd(6)(?(3)-OH)(6)] cluster unit of symmetry -3 and a slightly compressed octa-hedral geometry. Adjacent [Nd(6)(?(3)-OH)(6)] clusters are connected by the 2,5-pydc ligands, via O and N atoms, forming chains along the c axis. The remaining O atoms of the 2,5-pydc ligands link these chains into a three-dimensional framework. A disordered water molecule, located on a threefold rotation axis at the opposite side of the [Nd(6)(?(3)-OH)(6)] cluster and exposed to each of the three Nd atoms, completes the structure.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))[Fe(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·4H(2)O or (bpyH)[Fe(pydc)(2)]·4H(2)O, the asymmetric unit contains an [Fe(pydc)(2)](-) (pydcH(2)= pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid) anion, a protonated 4,4'-bipyridine as a counter-ion, (bpyH)(+), and four uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The anion is a six-coordinate complex with a distorted octa-hedral geometry around the Fe(III )atom. A wide range of non-covalent inter-actions, i.e. O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, ion pairing, C-O⋯π [3.431 (2) Å] and C-H⋯π stacking inter-actions result in the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)][Fe(C(2)O(4))(3)]·H(2)O, con-sists of two discrete tris-(chelate) metal ions (Co(III)N(6) and Fe(III)O(6) chromophores) and a water mol-ecule. The structure is highly symmetrical; the Co(III) and Fe(III) ions occupy positions with site symmetry 3.2. The coordination polyhedra of the metal atoms have a nearly octa-hedral geometry with noticeable trigonal distortions. The Co-N and Fe-O bond lengths are equal by symmetry, viz. 1.981?(2) and 1.998?(4)?Å, respectively. The cations and anions are arranged alternately along their threefold rotation axes parallel to [001], forming chains that are packed in a hexa-gonal manner. The water mol-ecules occupy voids between the chains. The crystal under investigation was an inversion twin.
